Everything was as described, we spent a nice stay. The house is full equiped to cook and to spend good moments for a family. The beach is at the end of the garden and beautiful like a swimming pool!
We recommend it!
We loved Panaytis's place! We stayed in House 3, which was the top apartment, with a sheltered balcony. It was really cute, well furnished with a great little kitchen area, powerful shower, and it was really clean and tidy. Loved the 'seaside' theme too.
We had a bit of miscommunication when we arrived - our fault totally as it took longer for us to hire a car than we thought it would, so we were late arriving, but the apartment was open, and eveything was all good - especially the VERY welcome bottle of Greek white wine in the fridge! It was our honeymoon, so whether that's a normal gesture or not, it was a lovely touch. Panayotis was really cool about us being later than expected too, which was great.
The private beach was quite open to the elements, (it was windy for a couple of the days we were on the island), but very peaceful. We even did some snorkelling there. You do need a car if you stay here, but the roads are good, and the car hire really reasonable. Paros is a stunning island. Naoussa is gorgeous, with great shopping, a lovely harbour-front, and don't miss 'Gourmet Street' for restaurants.
Our fave was Lefkas though - not only was it a very pretty place with friendly locals, the views are amazing, and we had the most delicious lunch one afternoon there. Simply perfect! We also ate at 'Siparos', which is a restairant about 3 mins walk from the apartment. The food there is amazing and the staff are super-friendly, so we went back a couple of times as it was so convienent.
There were other guests staying in the larger house who were friendly but kept themselves to themselves, and we didn't have anyone in the apartment below us. If you had a group of mates or a big-ish family wanting a holiday, renting the whole place out would be perfect as it's private as you need it to be, without being unsociable!
Paros was by far the best part of our trip to Greece (which included Athens and Santorini), and Villa A Mare was a wonderful pace to stay whist we were there. Highly reccomended,
Villa a Mare was an amazing and quiet place, steps from the water (albeit a rocky walk to the sandy beach). There is a nice beach bar and windsurfing spot 5 mins walk at Surfing Beach. Noussa was a great little town for grocery shopping and the best meal we had on Paros at Ciparos was only a 3 min walk away. If you're looking for a quiet, sunny vacation this is the place. Definitely bring bug spray - tons of mosquitoes!
Villa A Mare was an absolute dream for us. We had a large group of 9 friends and there was plenty of space for all of us across the three flats with a good setup for entertaining. The location was idyllic and very relaxing. There is a great swimming beach within a 5minute drive from the house in Santa Maria and a nice restaurant accross the road with fresh fish.
Panayotis was a very good host and was helpful in providing information and suggestions and keeping in contact. He suggested hiring a car which I would definitely recommend as the best method of transport as it is in a remote location and you'll want to be able to explore other parts of the island and do supermarket runs.
I'd return in a heartbeat.
We booked both houses for a week for our family of 8. The hosts Maria and her son Panayotis were welcoming and attentive. We asked for a baby cot and it was there ready for us. Maria also went and bought for us espresso capsules for the Nespresso machine! The house is spacious and very well located with a direct access to a secluded beach - a perfect spot. If you would rather go to a beach with a bar, restaurant and water sports - Santa Maria beach is really close, about one Km. The whole surrounding, Santa Maria neighborhood is probably the best in Paros which is such a lovely island! The villa is close to Naoussa (about 5 minutes by car) which is one of the loveliest fishing villages that we've seen in the Greek islands. There is a good restaurant, Siparos, about 3 minutes away by foot. The house is well equipped with towels, even beach towels were there. Albeit there are a two cons to the property; there are no mosquito nets in the windows and after one night that we slept with our windows open we were all bitten badly, especially our 11 months old grandson. The other nights we had to sleep with air conditioning and the windows closed. The host should maintain a better cleanliness of the kitchen utensils. One more problem is the internet connection which was limited to the upper bedroom. Overall we had a lovely stay and would probably come back to this spot of paradise!
The beach is wonderful and really quiet, Paros is wonderful.
We were speechless when we first arrived at Villa a mare! ! The outside area is amazing and the view's beautiful! The household utensills and towels then again weren't clean enough for our standards. We wouldn't recommend staying in the house fir more then 2people and book house 3 instead. The restaurant just around the corner named Siparos is very good!
Panayotis is a very kind and helpful person and Paros is one o the best islands to visit in Greece. Don't miss your chance to visit Paros and be sure that Panayotis will do his best for a memorable stay.
