We had an awesome stay! Lissa and Shane are very nice people, took really good care of us. Good conversations, very nice house and room. We felt really welcome during the 4th of July block-party! We would definitely recommend staying with them!
Lissa and Shane were very sweet. The house had a very welcoming and calm vibe. The bed was very comfortable and the room and street were very quiet. You couldn't ask for a more convenient location in Oak Park with easy access to the city. Would not hesitate to stay there again.
Very cute, cozy, comfortable room and charming house. Lissa was laid back and also considerate -- she made sure we had everything we needed and indulged our questions about how to get around oak park, where to get a bite to eat, etc. Great place!
Lyssa's comfortable, quiet room was just right for us! We're likely to contact her again and recommend her to folks wanting to stay in the Chicago area.
Lissa and Shane are very friendly hosts, and their house is very close to public transportation. Their cats are cute but will be afraid of you, as far as I can tell it's not personal. December was an unusual time for someone to be visiting Chicago, but they were still able to get the room ready for me. I have lived in this city a lot before, so we chatted about restaurants and neighborhoods. Shane knows a lot about wine (Lissa seems to as well), and you should ask Lissa about bees if that is your kind of thing. I will be suggesting their place to friends who visit town.
Lissa (email hidden)e was able to answer all my questions and I was very (email hidden). Her house is in a great neighborhood, close to the blue line as so I was able to get around easily.
Lissa was incredibly accommodating. We sent a request about 3 pm. She responded immediately and my husband and I arrived about an hour later. Her house is in a nice neighborhood, and we were able to walk to dinner and (email hidden)ssa recommended the restaurant we had dinner at. We were able to get an early reservation (it was Saturday night) and it was a WONDERFUL meal. Lissa's house was cozy and our room was very clean. She has wonderful art. We shared the bathroom with them, but there was no problem at all. I was so tired after dinner, I fell asleep immediately after getting back from dinner, and we didnt see Lissa in the morning, so we didnt really visit. The next morning we toured the Frank Lloyd Wright home, which was easy to get to and interesting. We recommend Lissa's place to other travelers.
Both Lissa and her home are charming! My husband and I enjoyed our brief but comfortable stay. :)
Lissa was a very hospitable and kind hostess and her home was quiet and relaxed - great for anyone who's looking for a low-key home base from which to explore the city. More like staying at a friend's house than in a hotel, which for us was a definite plus. Thanks, Lissa!
Me and my husband spent a beautiful week end at Oak Park! Lissa's place is very nice and in a great neighborhood. Lot's of things to do around, especially if you are interested in architecture, and easily connected to Chicago downtown. You can be in the loop in less than 30 minutes, also during the night!
The house is really an interesting place, the privacy was good, and Lissa is a very kind guest!
I surely suggest it!
Had a great experience with Lissa and her companion! Clear communicator and left my place in great shape. It was a pleasure getting to know them and they are welcome back any time. I haven't ever seen my cat respond so positively to guests!
Lissa was a fine guest, though we did not interact a lot because her stay was short.
I would recommend her to stay at any house.
Lissa is tidy and quiet. I recommend her.
very kind and nice girl, no problems with her at all! it has been a pleasure and I highly recommend to host Lissa!
