When we walked into the downtown cottage, it made us smile. Just the cutest place! Friendly and welcoming, with the feel of historic Athens! In addition, Lee had set us up with scones and coffee, sure to boost travel weary guests!
You can walk anywhere downtown in a few minutes, which was especially nice. I wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else. That's why I'm giving this accommodation 5 stars!
My husband, daughter, and I really enjoyed our stay at Lee's charming home. He made us feel so welcome, from the flowers on the kitchen table to the extra shampoo and lotions left for us to use. The house itself was beautiful (hardwood floors, tall ceilings) and in a fantastic location (close to downtown shops, restaurants, etc.) - and the front porch was an added bonus! We spent a lot of our time sitting outside, watching walkers and bikers meander down the street in front of us.
We would recommend this home to anyone who plans to stay in Athens and take advantage of the local culture that makes it so unique - we will be back!
My family and I enjoyed the cottage. It's couple blocks from downtown and Lee was flexible with check-in and check-out. I would stay here again and I recommend it.
We have stayed at Lee's Cottage a couple of times and plan to return again & again. Our son is a UGA student athlete so we are in Athens a lot.
Very easy in/out with no stress. This property is cute, convenient, comfortable & just has a very good vibe…which is most likely a result of it's welcoming owners.
Back when I lived in Athens, I'd park along Pulaski occasionally when visiting downtown. On the way to my destination, I'd walk by a really cool little place that had a wonderful porch with a swing and rocking chairs. I'd always think how much I'd love to hang out on that porch. Well, even though it was a bit chilly this weekend, I made sure to hangout on that porch, because it's the one that belongs to this great little cottage.
If you want easy access to downtown Athens, you'll not find a better spot.
Also, I really appreciated that Lee stayed in contact for a few days before we arrived and kept us updated on the bad weather that was hammering Georgia.
Check in was a breeze and after staying out too late on Saturday, we definitely appreciated the "take as long as you need on Sunday" check out policy. We got to meet Lee on Friday morning when he stopped by to deliver some croissants and fruit to us for breakfast. That was super thoughtful and much appreciated.
I have to spend a few days in Athens for work in April, and if it's available, this place will be top of my list to stay again.
My husband and I stayed here over the holidays while visiting our daughter who attends UGA. The cottage is very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Great porch, though it was a bit too cold to use during our stay. Beautiful and unique garden area in back. Perfect location close to downtown.
Another great visit to Lee's cottage! We always look forward to staying here when we're in town. Thank you Lee. See you soon.
This was a great place to stay for downtown Athens. Although a older place, it had a great ambiance. The front porch was awesome and the gardens and the stone pathways in the back were definitely a highlight.
Beautifully decorated and perfectly located. Getting in and out was easy and Lee was so helpful and welcoming. I really enjoyed my stay
Our stay at the Downtown Garden Cottage was everything it was advertised to be. The house is comfortable and super convenient if you are going to an event at UGA. We walked to downtown both nights for dinner and drinks and to the football game (although it is a long walk to the stadium!). There is parking for one car off street and the back yard garden is pretty cool.
