This place is great. Due to poor weather our stay was based more inside and didn't get to experience as much of the area as hoped. In terms of that, the description is very accurate and the hosts' attention to detail made the entire stay 100% smooth. I didn't meet the hosts in person but they were very attentive to emails/text.
Due to plumbing problems at Bohemian Getaway, Krista moved us into their house near Twin Lakes. We appreciated so much her concern for our anniversary getaway weekend! The lake bungalow was a charming, cozy, light-filled, happy space, which turned out to be just right for our needs. Fresh-picked flowers from the garden, a dish full of chocolates and a well-stocked refrigerator greeted us as we entered the spit-spot clean little house. A note awaiting our arrival stated the house rules. They read as follows, "Make yourself at home." That was the only rule and following through was effortless. The host and hostess had thought of everything to make us feel very comfortable and most definitely at home.
Although we never saw our hosts we really enjoyed having this nice cottage all to ourselves. We travelled with our 7 months old son and he slept his first 5 hours uninterrupted sleep there! We noticed the small details that make this a fine place: the lovely décor and home plants along with everything in working order and very clean.
Our stay in the cottage was lovely. The cottage was very clean and welcoming , set back in a beautiful and peaceful lake overlook location. The fridge was stocked and beautiful house plants created a very homey ambiance. It was only 20-25 minutes to Omega and an easy commute. Krista was very prompt and helpful with questions. An overall great experience with my first airbnb experience! Thank-you
Came up from the city for a wedding a couple weekends ago with some friends. The cottage was perfect. Clean, fully stocked kitchen and Krista was very easy to communicate with if we had any questions. We had a great time!
Great little house. Exactly as advertised. Great location for visiting our daughter at Bard. Thanks for a great stay
Very nice and practucal home to stay overnight. Very clean and enjoyable, nicely furnished and comfortable. About 20-30 minute drive to FDR Home and Library, and in beautiful Hudson River Valley locatiion. Highly recommend this listing.
Such a nice place, a perfect spot for our stay in Red Hook. Couldn't have been happier!
Krista's home was lovely. My friend and I came for the weekend and we had a awesome time at her home. Great place to get away from the city. We were pleasantly surprised to see that Krista had left some groceries for us to eat in the fridge, that was a very nice gesture and it goes to show how great these hosts are. We weren't able to meet Krista because we had a busy schedule but whenever we had a question she always responded really quickly and was willing to give us advice. A great surprise was also that behind Krista's home there is a big yard and one night when we arrived we saw the whole yard filled with hundreds of fireflies, it was so beautiful I don't think I've ever seen so many in my life before. Just a magical place.
Hi our stay at Krista and Jesse place was just what my family needed after a week in NYC. It was a wonderful relaxing experience in this homely cosy house in Red Hook. A sleepy little village where you felt really safe and at home, with great local food on your door step.
The house was perfect for all our needs and the air con made it even more comfortable as it was quite hot when we where there, it was great value for money, the living room had a plus of having a beautiful fine tuned piano, the kitchen was spacious and equipped for all our needs, bedrooms where comfortable, the down stairs one was a bit small and hot in the heat.
The outdoor space was relaxing and lovely for sitting out for breakfast..
My daughter and I had a hard time avoiding the insect bits, so I would recommend bringing some insect repellent to make your stay more comfortable.
Overall I would highly recommend this quaint cosy home in the hills for a short getaway from the madness of the city, Krista was a wonderful welcoming host , she was on hand for any issues or questions, not to mention the beautiful nearby lakes she made us aware of which we all enjoyed greatly
Thankyou so much your friendship and hospitality Jacqueline and family
Krista was a delightful guest, I would welcome her back anytime.
