The host was very helpful. The location was near Heathrow, which is what I wanted... however you are literally in the flight path of the arriving planes. I was there just to crash before I left the next day, and the planes stopped at 11 pm for the night, so no problem with sleeping.
The room was (email hidden)d-in space, but it was perfectly comfortable for our one night layover. Mandeep was helpful with directions and facilitating during our communications.
Like others have mentioned, the accommodations are spare. But this is pretty clearly outlined in the ad, so hopefully no one else is shocked moving forward. For what we needed, it was perfect and cheap.
Mandeep was a great host. The sofa bed is very comfortable and is as advertised. The bathroom and living room were clean. Great place to stop over for a night before heading to Heathrow. A 5-10 minute walk from the Hounslow West train station which is mere two stops from Heathrow on the Picadilly line.
This is a great convenient place to stay if you have a layover at Heathrow. It is about a 10 minute walk from the Hounslow West tube stn. The Cabin is very spacious and comfortable, and Mandeep is a very pleasant and accommodating host.
We stayed in Mandeep's house only for one night as we were returning to London on our way back from Rome to catch a flight from Heathrow the next morning. We had transportation issues and didn't get to Mandeep's until late that night. He was very accommodating, and although we only talked for a short period, he seemed like a great guy. We left early the next morning, and that was that! It is super close to Heathrow, and so it was perfect for us. We just slept on the sofa bed, which isn't incredibly comfortable, but if you are just looking for a place to stay (like we were) then it is perfect.
Our experience with Mandeep was not a positive one. The house was clean but the living & dining room area (where we slept) was more cluttered than the photos. Mandeep forgot to tell us about the switch for the shower stall heater so we had to shower in the bathtub, which didn't have shower curtains so it wasn't pleasant. Like other reviewers, we also experienced wifi problem the night of arrival (after I asked him for the password since he also forgot to give it) but had no problems the next morning; this was also the only host (at this price point) that didn't provide a towel (other hosts provided towels, even at lower prices).
The worst part of our experience was the next morning when my wife & I were preparing to leave; although we asked the night before if we should be expecting guests in the living room the next morning & thus not expecting any, Mandeep suddenly came in, removed the bedsheets, folded the sofa bed we slept in & put our clean sleeping clothes on the outside part of our luggage without saying a word; he then sat on the sofa with the TV on until we left. It felt as if he was kicking us out indirectly, especially as my wife was still in some sleepwear when he began cleaning up.
After reading his review of us, I looked through our e-mail communications again & updates were given, including right before leaving to Mandeep's house that night. I'm sorry if I wasn't being precise enough though but I also couldn't predict a Tube line being delayed that evening & a few carriages being full as a result.
FYI, with heavy luggage it took us 50 minutes that night to reach the home in unfamiliar area while dark but the directions could've been a little clearer too; thanks God for some nice locals who guided us to his home! The next morning, we walked back to the Hounslow West station & it took 24 minutes door-to-door (even though he said it was a 10 minutes' walk).
Thankfully this was only a 1 night stay.
Came in for a late stop over on our way to Glasgow and Mandeep made sure to provide instructions and everything we needed for our stay. Mandeep was Friendly and helpful and the place was clean and well kept.
We stayed at Mandeep's before an early flight. It was convenient and Mandeep shared interesting stories of the London Olympics etc. this place is a good option to be near the airport - but if you plan to take the tube to Heathrow, be warned that without an Oyster card the tube is still full price even though you are only going 2 stops.
We had so much fun staying in a "real wood log cabin" in London! It looked exactly like the pictures and was very clean and stocked nicely. Mandeep was a fabulous host. It is very simple and basic and perfect for our one night before catching a flight home. It was a 15 minute cab ride to the airport. Be prepared for airplane noise and we were thanks to Mandeep's information.
We stayed for 7 night in the Log Cabin in June. Mandeep is a kind host and very responsive when having questions and or issues. The cabin was clean and had everything that to be fully self sufficient. The price/qualtiy ration for a place like this in London is very good. We had a very good time!
Mandeep was a perfect and very relaxed guest. We had nice chats about all sorts of things and about airbnb, since he hosts as well. It was good to share our experience.
