Response from Shani:
Objective critisism is fine Omi. However in giving your opinion it would be better to outline more than half the picture! For instance there are definitely not notes "here and there" but just One polite notice on the bedstead!
I think you might have missed "the warmth and hospitality and the no frills" that were in your room,
Omi sorry that your needs were not met regarding our sharing a bit more of our lives with you! I am thinking a commune type facility would suit your needs maybe better as i did feel you were a bit needy!
You might consider also from a host perspective as in people who are offering accomodation are not operating on a commercial basis... Therefore flexibility by both host and guests are key . This is reflected in guests getting good facility at half the rate of hotels and B&B in central London location.
Finally i try to offer a balance between good hospitality and professional relations with my guests. As an experienced host having had to deal with a guest breaking down my living room door in a psychotic moment it taught me a good deal about the fine line between "sharing our lives with guests" and professional hosting.
Omi an offer of payment for the damaged light cord would have been the decent thing to do.
