Charles and Helen were perfect hosts. They have a beautiful, historic home with a fantastic garden that is a pleasure to walk around. The breakfast was just what we needed and Charles and Helen were flexible on timings. I would stay here again and recommend it to others. Thank you Charles and Helen.
Our first stay with Airbnb was more than we expected. Two bedrooms and the beds are much bigger than what I saw on the pictures. The house was located in the middle of nowhere, yet the surrounding views were one of a kind. We took many…many pictures. Charles and Helen were kind and considerate. They even woke up early to help us prepare breakfast. The house decorations were artistic and intriguing to view.
We had a wonderful time with Charles and Helen. Given we had a car, and were hiking around Brecon Beacons the next day (for which they gave us expert insider knowledge and even maps! - thank you so much!), the location was perfect. Very pretty, great history to the place, quaint yet very comfortable. They were most welcoming, and cooked a beautiful breakfast the next morning. Our only regret was we had just one night, so we didn't get to chat very much - apologies :) Well worth the visit.
Thanks for a very enjoyable two night stay. The rooms were pretty, spacious and clean, and included the most amazing collection of books that I understand were just your "overflow" library! Thanks also for giving us the use of your kitchen for breakfast, and for being warm and gracious hosts. Best wishes, Caroline
We enjoyed our couple of days in this lovely old cottage. The garden is beautiful as are the surroundings and Charles and Helen were very hospitable.
Charles and Helen were very welcoming hosts. The rooms and beds very comfortable, towels provided along with tea and coffee refreshments. They have a vast knowledge of the local area/history and we're full of good advice and tips about trips out. The cottage is unusual and interesting with the most beautiful country garden. We would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it.
We had a lovely stay at Meend Cottage. Charles and Helen were hospitable and helpful. Their garden is a delight. The standard of cleanliness is excellent. There is plenty to see and do in the area if you have your own transport. Goodrich Castle was a highlight.
Lovely, helpful and accommodating hosts and a spotless, bright room. An unexpected breakfast too!
Thid id s lovely place to stay on a very remote location. It did take us quite a lot of time to find the place and you don't have a lot of coverage to use your mobile phone,
The 2 rooms and bedding were perfect.
Charles and his wife were lovely hosts, very easy to talk with and gave us some usefull advices as to what to do around.
Be aware that there isnt much in terms of food on a walking distance (basically nothing).
The pub in the village is 5 minutes walk, serves food, and is open for lunch and in the evening.
We had a great 3 days with Charles and Helen. What a beautiful old house. The bedroom and bath were immaculate and comfortable. The continental breakfast was a nice touch, and Helen even make me some porridge when my stomach was upset. (But was horrified when I asked for raisins to go with it!). We took a "quiet day" from our travels to go to the Wye Valley and Tintern Abbey in Wales, which is very close.
Charles and his guest were fine and left the barn clean and tidy. He let me know what time to expect him and communicated well.
Good house guests, a very pleasant couple.
