Three of us stayed for a week in Edith's lovely little apartment. We are glad that one of our group cancelled on our trip , as we feel that 4 adults (women) in the apartment for a week would have been TO tight of a fit. We had all we wanted, listened to her music, visited the local grocery, showered, slept (the futon on the floor was a bit hard, hey ! we had very little time to sleep anyway) and liked having 2 metro stations close by. We felt very cozy and welcome in the neighborhood.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Edith's! Her flat was cute, and quirky with very special details throughout. It was what I imagined the quintessential Parisian flat would look like. She left a binder of activities, attractions, restaurants, bars, etc in the neighborhood which was a nice touch. The apartment itself was located in a very diverse and bustling area, and was within walking distance to the Metro, Velib bike share and nearby neighborhoods so it was very easy to navigate. My only complaint was that we did not get to meet Edith during our stay!
This was a really wonderful home base for us. It is spacious and very clean and Edith was a wonderful host. Our first morning she brought us pastries for breakfast, which was such a kind gesture. The only issues we had were with the water (but it came back on within the hour) and being woken up by construction on the roof the first morning (though to Edith's credit she spoke with them about it and had them do it later in the day). But besides that, my sister and I had a great stay here. The space is warm and inviting. Thank you so much, Edith:)
Edith's place was great! It's a neat little appartment, close to Canal St. Martin, which is very cool. It's not touristy but a great starting point for tours of Paris!
The appartment is very cute and special, especially the ladder to the bedroom!:)
Edith was there to greet us and left information on the table! She's very funny and helpful!
Edith's place is great. Warm, colourful and bright. And really clean. The music collection is excellent. It's really well set up and the location is great. There's lots going on in the neighbourhood, restaurants and bars. It was quiet at night. As it's an internal apartment looking onto the courtyard there was little street noise. Easy to walk to the canal, the marais, metros super close. I didn't get to meet Edith unfortunately but everything went very smoothly. Highly recommended.
Très bel appartement! Lumineux, chaleureux, bien situé... bref de quoi rendre un séjour à Paris très agréable. Merci Édith!
I stayed in Edith's lovely appartment for 3 nights in september:) her taste in decoration and sense of art is amazing. Its by far one of the most convenient appartments i saw. This is my first airbnb rental and thanks to edith it wont be my last.
The place was very clean, and just as described, no errors or faults
The place is walking distance from the metro, and facing the bus, so it practically takes you everywhere:)
Her music selection and variety of cds available will need another review on its own:)
Thank you edith and see you next time in paris
Edith was a great host. The apartment has a lot of charater. Edith even did a mime for us!
Ediths home would be how we would love ours to look if we had such imagination and artistry. And it is a home, not a hotel or an uninhabited studio, and that is what we look for with airbnb, but not always so fortunate to find. Thanks again Edith!
As all reviewers have commented, Edith's apartment has a fantastic location, close to several Metro stations, major train stations, and (email hidden)ly and diverse neighborhood - a great jumping off point for Paris exploration! Edith was communicative and helpful, though I didn't get to meet her in person (my boyfriend met her briefly). She gave great instructions on how to find her apartment and left the key in a convenient place so we could let ourselves in (very convenient).
The apartment is set up for everything you need, including an array of Paris guide books, maps, and a helpful binder Edith put together with some key information. There is a stereo that plays CD's and Edith has a large, eclectic collection of music. We didn't use the TV and actually weren't in the apartment much, but appreciated that it is very quiet with great light.
The one thing I would say is the bed is very very firm (thin pad) - good to know if you would have a problem with that sort of thing and it was hard for us to get used to. Also, both my boyfriend and I are very tall (5'11" and 6'3") but we had no problem with the loft. I'll also flag that the shower can be tricky for a tall/larger person.
Overall, it was a great place to stay!
I met Edith by chance my first time in Paris. We exchanged smiles while feeding birds by the canal. We said hello and spoke for a while. I quickly found her charming and very friendly so of course we became instant friends. Through our conversations, I found out she rents her apartment occasionally. of course I had to leave the hostel I had been staying at. Hostels are great but they are filled with tourists and you dont get nearly the same experience travelling when all you meet are other tourists. I enjoyed paris immensely because of Edith.
Her appartment is very cute and i felt like home the moment I walked in. From the hanging baskets at the entrance to the hexagonal tiles to her many many treasures she has around the apartment.
The neighbourhood is quiet but not far you can find a very lively part of Paris which is great for exploring.
Whenever I go to paris, which is often as I now work in france, I have to stay at Edith's. No other option will be good enough.
