When we arrived, there was an orientation package on the kitchen table with bus/metro information and so on. Mónica had even left bread, coffee, butter and cheese. All of this made us feel at ease and welcome. Whenever we had questions on museums/restaurants/shopping malls/whatever Mónica would answer e-mails right of way as if we had been to a lobby in a hotel. The place is clean and nice with all you need, the neighborhood is quiet and safe, a 20 min walk to Georgetown, Dupont Circle (metro station) in a walking distance and buses in front. We recommend a Big Bus Tour on the first day, it gives a good overview of the city. We began our tour on Connecticut Ave close to Dupont Circle. Don't miss the Woodrow Wilson House (10-4 Tue-Sun, $10) in R str and the Anderson Mansion in Mass Ave (1-4, free), both just a few min walk from Mónica's house :-) Of course the Smithsonian museums are something else, all free.
On the whole a friendly atmosphere and a comfortable stay, to be highly recommended.

Monica is a delightful, energetic, smart and interesting woman. We enjoyed our talks AND our outing to the local Farmer's Market. Monica certainly knows about food, history and cultural connections. Very impressive, especially when that's wrapped into a warm, considerate woman. Monica was the perfect guest, in every way, communicating regularly and concerned about our well-being. Imagine! She's wonderful!!!!
Mónica and her partner decided to stay an extra day in magical Guanajuato, so I am just repeating here what I said in my other review: they are WONDERFUL guests!
Such a pleasure to meet Mónica and her partner, such a pleasure to host them here! Such a shame they weren't able to spend more time in this magical city which they so clearly appreciate and value ... Mónica and her partner were ideal guests: clean, independent, enthusiastic. I hope they return soon, and for more time!
Monica was a great guest. She was clear and effective in her communication - which made the rental process easy and fun!
we highly recommend Monica to other Airbnb hosts!
Monica and her friends stayed in our apartment while attending a conference and were ideal houseguests. I only met them briefly, but when I did they were warm friendly people, and Monica was great about communicating with me about her stay before their arrival. They left the apartment in wonderful condition, and were very courteous of our downstairs tenants. I don't hesitate in recommending them as guests!
Monica is my friend, colleague AND neighbor, so I speak out of experience when I say Monica is responsible and trustworthy, keeps her place clean, and will try to make the best out of your stay in DC. The apartment extremely well located, in one of DC's nicest areas. Close to the metro, restaurants, Rock Creek Park, Georgetown, and everything else you need!
Monica is a fantastic guest. She has stayed with me at my place numerous time and usually leaves me hanging my head in shame because how in the world can a guest keep your house cleaner than you can? Well, yes she can.
Monica is responsible, reliable and trustworthy. I would give her the keys to any place I live without even thinking about it knowing it will be in excellent hands.
I have also stayed in her apartment more than once and it's a warm and inviting space that she decorated lovingly. Very tidy and clean!
So - in short: Highly recommend Moni.
