Jane's mother, Anne, is a very special person and a wonderful host. She made my boyfriend and I immediately feel welcome when we arrived after a long hike. The room we stayed in was cozy and clean, the house is comfortable and rustically elegant, and the yard/property is beautiful and serene. Anne's breakfast sandwich was AMAZING. My boyfriend and I will definitely stay with Anne again next time we're in the White Mountains and we highly recommend that you do the same.
Jane's mother, Ann, was incredibly warm and welcoming, as was her sister, Connie, and Connie's children, whom we also met and chatted with. At the far back of the yard, at the edge of the woods, is a bench seat that you climb a ladder to get to. Such a simple thing, but very neat and with a nice view. The room we stayed in was clean, cozy, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The private bathroom was just a few steps away and it was lovely (I have not often have a described a bathroom that way!). The bathroom was spacious and the perfect blend of modern amenities with charming decor, as was the rest of the house. Breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed pleasant conversation with the other couple that had stayed the night as well. Until that breakfast, we didn't even see or hear the other couple; the house felt very private, unless we went seeking conversation. If you stay here, take Ann up on her recommendation to eat at the Schoolhouse - which is actually a tree house restaurant - though you won't go for the food (bar food), you go for the experience!
Wonderful experience! The house is amazing, it is cosy and quiet, the bed I had was extremely comfortable. The breakfast was very good and made with love by Ann! I didn't got to meet Jane but her mother Ann was there, what a wonderful woman full of positive energy, so generous and kind ! I definitely recommend this place 110% you won't regret it !
We had a wonderful time in the White Mountains in the lovely cottage with Jane' s Mum : Anne.
Our room which was on the ground floor was nice, spacious and really clean.
Anne was welcoming us and made us very comfortable and she created really delicious breakfasts to us. Her coffee was the best we had in the US in our trip!
The house is really nice, very tastefully furnished with the nice terasse looking over this big green garden where a wild turkey family might come by....!
Yes, we felt welcome. This was our second visit to the farmhouse. Our bedroom and bath were lovely, comfortable and private. Our host was friendly and gracious.
Jane's house is a lovely old farmhouse, furnished with great antiques. The b&b is run by her mum Anne who is a wonderful host. She gave us good tips of where to go and what to visit. We felt very much at home. Very nice organic breakfast.
We enjoyed our stay in the Hazel Room. Anne immediately made us feel welcome and comfortable. We didn't meet Jane but she was very responsive to emails prior to our stay. Breakfast was incredible and Anne offered many suggestions for activities and attractions. Although the bathroom was private (only for us), it was not attached to our room which we weren't expecting. We would definitely come back!
Traveling as a couple, we had a great experience in this house: the place is an authentic and charming end-of-18th-century house well re-arranged, all the rooms were clean, we were welcomed by our host and talked late the first night about her passion for literature and arts, breakfast was great and flexible (we could ask what we liked) and hiking recommendations were useful. Overall, one of the best AirBNB we have been in so far.
One comment though, the room we had (upstairs) had a bed that actually felt smaller than a full size.
This was a perfect place for us to have as "base camp". All we did was sleep in the bedroom each evening. Anne (Jane's mom) was up every morning for a quick cup of coffee and any suggestions we might need for our driving around New Hampshire and Vermont. Good value, good location, exactly what we expected and needed.
We had such a great experience: it's a lovely house, the host is absolutely welcoming (leave your travel guide at home and trust her recommendations, they're the best), the bed is comfy, the bathroom is gorgeous and the breakfast is delicious! Highly recommended.
Jane, her friend and two young children were a pleasure to host! They were quiet, polite and left our Tompeca Cottage like they'd never stayed in it! Would recommend Jane to any potential renters.
