Great apartment located in most vibrant district in SF!
This was our first time using airbnb and we were pleased with the sunny mod mission loft. Jessica was extremely prompt in we emails with any questions or concerns we may have had. We chose to stay here to avoid being near higher prone traffic areas and it was a great decision. The loft itself was reflect for our family of 3. Having the nursery was a nice perk for little one. We really didn't utilize the kitchen as much since we ate out most of the time there. Loved having the washer and dryer available as we used it during our stay. I would recommend this loft to anyone looking for a place within a short walking distance to the mission.
While this apartment definitely is a "sunny, mod mission loft" and four people technically could sleep in it, I felt a bit uninformed (not misled) as to what the apartment does and doesn't offer when I made the reservation. First, I had trouble visualizing the layout. It IS technically a one-bedroom loft with a nursery, but for noise purposes it functions like a two-level studio apartment. What I'm trying to express for folks like me who don't totally "get" the loft thing is that every space in the apartment is open air to every other space. The two people sleeping on the pull-out sofa are doing so in the living room, kitchen, and dining area with zero sound barrier between them and the two people sleeping on the king mattress suspended above. The nursery is a converted closet next to the king bed, and the door to it must remain open for air flow. The setup could be perfect for a family with a baby who sleeps well (or even a larger group who are very comfortable with one another and all wake up at the same time), but it didn't work for us. After chatting with our host after our stay, I realize that the second issue only comes into play a few weeks out of the year, but I feel the need to mention the problem anyway. We visited during a heat wave. Just before our arrival, Jessica sent me a note explaining that the apartment is so sunny that ones needs to keep all the windows closed and covered all day and then return to the apartment in the early afternoon in order to open certain windows (they can't just be left open with no one present because they pose a security threat) to keep the apartment from becoming stiflingly stuffy. We found that even after cancelling our evening plans and following these instructions the loft was unbearably hot. Because of the fairly intense street noise all the windows needed to be closed before going to sleep, which meant the loft grew even more warm and stuffy overnight. Again, Jessica assures me that this problem is only a significant issue a few weeks a year, but I feel obligated to mention that we didn't get any sleep all week thanks to the heat/stuffiness and sound properties of the apartment. Aside from those two issues, the listing really is great. It's clean, well baby-proofed, and the check-in/out process was super easy. It also has a very homey, welcoming quality to it even though it's totally modern in decor. The extra toys, washer/dryer, dishwasher, elevator, and activity/restaurant suggestions really made our lives easier. Jessica has generally been super helpful and kind throughout. I hate to leave a less than glowing review for a place that's positive in MANY ways, but I want to give others a head's up on the few negatives we experienced.
My family of 4 (husband, mother--in-law, 18 month old son and myself) stayed in this wonderful apartment for about a week. It has absolutely everything you could need. They provide parking also so you don't have to worry about your car. The huge windows and view are amazing!! Sunlight flooded the apartment every afternoon. Location is great, we could walk to the market a few blocks away or go out nearby to great restaurants or blue bottle coffee. A total plus : they have a nursery, safety gates, tons of children's books and toys that they left us for our son, who was enamored with everything. A washer and dryer, a balcony... we had an amazing trip out and about, and coming back at the end of the day to such a comfortable, open home was a dream. Highly recommend to anyone. Thank you, Jessica, Craig, and Wyatt!
It does not get any better! This Mission Loft is incredible. It is located right in the middle of the Mission, with a lot of interesting restaurants, bars and shops nearbye. The modern loft receives a lot of light because of the large windows, and is very clean, spacious, comfortable, and has a great energy. It has a very nice balcony with a view over town. It really has everything you will need and more. Communication with Jessica was very fluent and fast. She gave excellent tips on things to do in the neighboorhoud and SF. I totally recommend this place to anyone.
Thank you Jessica and Craig for sharing your beautiful home with us!
The apartment was spotless, well appointed and in a great location. It was especially great for us, travelling with our toddler son. The apartment was completely child-proof, full of toys and books for him to play with, and provided a far superior alternative to staying in a hotel during our visit to SF.
Also worth mentioning, the bed is ridiculously comfortable.
Our hosts left us everything we needed, including a color-coded map outlining all of the neighborhood amenities and kid-friendly spots.
We would definitely stay again.
Jessica and her family were wonderful guests. They were very respectful of our home, and were extremely neat and clean. They were very communicative, and we would love to host them again.
