Lovely apartment! Good for the three people in our group. Right across the street from the bus and a 5-10 minute walk from the subway. Never met Sam, but he maintained great communication via phone & text throughout our stay. Thanks, Sam!
My boyfriend and I stayed here for five nights while he attended a conference and I explored Chicago. This place was absolutely perfect! A short walk to the red line that you can take directly into town and a couple blocks from Clark Street where there are tons of places to shop and eat in Andersonville.
Sam was exceptionally accommodating. I recommend this place if you want to feel safe and comfortable.
I had a great 5-day stay! Sam's apartment was perfectly situated for access to the restaurants and shops in Andersonville and the Edgewater beaches. Public transportation on the red line was within walking distance.
The apartment itself was great, with a nice living room to watch movies on the 50-inch TV after a long day of exploring Chicago. Laundry was super-convenient and it's nice to have a doorman building.
I would definitely consider staying here again.
I had family in town from Europe who wanted to stay on their own and explore the city at their own pace. Sam's apartment was a great find and he was a high quality host. He was very efficient in terms of making sure that everything was taken care of, that my family was able to check in and check out conveniently, and that if there were any questions or issues, he was extremely available and prompt with his responses. He called multiple times during the two week stay to make sure everything was going well and my family felt very happy that they were not just given keys and ignored. Sam was extremely courteous and made sure that if anything was needed, he would point them in the right direction. The staff at the apartment building were also very nice, helping out constantly and making my family feel both secure in the rental as well as comfortable when they needed assistance with anything. The apartment is located in a spot that allows easy downtown access both by car and public transit. The place was very clean and furnished very well. There is only one bedroom, but the apartment could easily have furnished a family of 4 comfortably (my family had 3; 2 slept on the bed and the child slept on the very comfortable sofa using linens that were graciously provided). There was cable television in the unit as well as a very effective air conditioner. The only thing lacking was perhaps internet access, but the availability of local wifi hotspots such as Starbucks less than a block away and others made it a non-issue. Sam was available to guide them when they needed it. The location, again, was great in terms of the fact that it had access to Lake Shore Drive and gave them the ability to jump right on and be downtown in less than 10 minutes. The beach was an easy walk (which made them very happy), as were many little restaurants as well as several different grocery stores (inexpensive large grocers as well as more fresh grown markets). I would recommend staying here both for the apartment itself with its great location as well as for Sam being a great and helpful host.
My son and I had a great stay at Sam's place. Communication was excellent before, during, and after our visit. The condo is much much better than a hotel room. Huge living room with giant couch and big screen TV, full kitchen, wall of windows in living room and bedroom. No wi-fi, but Starbucks is just around the corner, next to the Red line train. Bus stops right outside the front door of the building. Bike/walk trails right outside back door leading to miles and miles of dedicated no-car green space trails along Lake Michigan. Would definitely stay there again.
Sam was an excellent host. Very easy to communicate with. Apartment was clean and exactly as described. Would definitely stay there again!
Sam's apartment really lived up to its photos. The apartment truly is seconds away from the beautiful Lake, an amazing grocery store that sells liquor (a plus), right across the street from the bus, short blocks to the train, and 2 blocks from Starbucks. Pretty much everything you'd need is nearby. Getting a cab to downtown is easy even late night and less than 15 minutes. I covered a lot of ground in the city, West Loop, Evanston, Millenium Park, The Taste of Chicago, Old Town, South Loop, Greek Town, the Beach near Castaways, and Oak Street Beach all while I was staying on what was considered the North Side.
His apartment is tidy. The doormen were extremely kind. Aside from a pretty loud siren from a firetruck passing by once or twice, I had an excellent stay. And, Sam is an excellent host checking in more than once even offering laundry access. I stayed with 3 girlfriends and we were absolutely comfortable.
I would definitely recommend it!
A great stay! Condo was great, and Sam made my stay easy. I'd definitely stay here again.
The apartment was just like the photos. The doormen working the front desk were extremely nice and helpful. And the bus stops (147 and 151) were literally right across the street. Sam checked in twice via cellphone to ensure everything went smoothly during check-in and checked in again a few hours before check-out to confirm all the details.
Lovely condo... nice and spacious. Sam was very responsive! About 15 min from downtown... so you would need to take public transport or cab. Thanks for the stay Sam!
