Tech guy with a hankering for surfing and sailing.
Edward's place was amazing! It was a two minute walk from some great food trucks and coffee places, and a 10 minute walk from South Congress. The place is very clean and well put together. The check in was easy and simple. Definitely recommend.
We had a very pleasant stay at Edward's cottage. The online description is accurate, and the house has all the amenities we needed. The street is quiet, while being close by to several food trucks, restaurants, and coffeehouse with a good selection of mini breakfast burritos and pastries. There's a convenience store around the corner as well. It is very well situated as you are within walking distance of South Congress street with all of its shops, restaurants, music venues/Lady Bird Lake Trail. You could probably stay in SoCo and try every eating establishment for a full week and still not have gone through them all. There are also many bus line options close to the cottage for getting to downtown Austin easily. I'd highly recommend this listing for a visitor who wants to be out of the fray but still feel connected to what Austin offers.
Our interaction with our host was entirely via email and text. He was always prompt and thorough in his responses. The cottage was perfect for my wife and I. It afforded privacy in a relatively quiet neighborhood. We could walk to the many venues on S. First Street and SoCo as well as the Austin's hike a bike trail. The accommodation was comfortable and contained everything we needed for a 5 night stay. Though we never needed help, I always felt that Edward was just a text message away. The cottage was clean and well appointed--the Keurig coffee maker was a real plus. Off street parking was also a plus as the area attracts lots of folks who park their cars on the street. All in all a very good experience with clear and helpful information and advice from the host. The host was courteous enough to have some clothing items we'd inadvertently left behind forwarded to us promptly.
Spent nine days in this cozy cottage and loved it. Location was the biggest plus as it is in easy walking distance to loads of restaurants, both on 1st Street and South Congress. The house is as described. It is little, but perfect for one couple. Clean, nicely decorated, comfortable bed. Since it was a long stay, the washer and dryer (+ available detergent) was a big plus! Would definitely stay here again.
Edward was a fantastic communicator - we had everything we needed. The home is perfectly set up to meet all needs.
My husband and I stayed a week in Edward's Zen cottage. We loved it. The house was immaculate, wonderfully equipped, centrally located, and beautifully decorated.
Edward has fit an amazing amount of convenience into this tiny home. There are band aids in the medicine cabinet, spices and condiments in the kitchen, a really comfortable bed with nice sheets and a down comforter. the shower is great.
All the appliances are new and first rate: a Keurig coffee maker,a Cuisinart, a Kitchenaid mixer. the stacked washing machine and dryer hold an amazing amount of laundry. The dishes are pretty with good wine glasses and arty silverware; the knife set is complete and sharp.
The location of the house is on a nice residential street but only a few doors down from a major street and still it's quiet. There's a nice coffee house with a shaded yard and bocci ball just down the street, the Thai restaurant directly across First street is wonderful, and there's even one of those goo-bomb, ultimate doughnut trucks a few doors down. We walked to the botanical gardens and the music festival (a little over a mile away)
The back yard is huge and has a sitting area with a hammock. Unfortunately there were mosquitoes, but Edward had insect repellent sitting out on the table, of course. There is a private driveway so parking is never a problem.
Edward, our host, provided detailed information by e-mail, was available for questions but he never bothered us. But really, the house was remarkably uncomplicated and easy to enjoy.
My thanks Airbnb and to Edward for sharing his beautiful and thoughtful house. I highly recommend it.
fantastic hosting! Really a great experience.
Great experience from the moment we arrived. Edward had the house spotless and kept in touch before and toward the end of our stay to make sure all ran smoothly. Would definitely stay here again!
Edward's place is absolutely perfect in location and feel. My Husband and I had a blast enjoying the city and neighborhood. Even though I lived in Austin for 10 years and recently moved I was able to share the "Austin Experience" with my hubby for the weekend. The location could not be more perfect. Cozy house and wonderful backyard.
Edward was a very helpful in sending me precise instructions for checking in and out. I would recommend Edward's cottage to anyone. We will definitely be back!
Perfect location being our first time in Austin. Accommodation compact but very adequate for our stay. Clean, comfortable and quiet. Lovely yard to sit out in although it was very hot while we were there and we couldn't appreciate it as much as we would have liked. Walking distance to practically anywhere, food trucks, the continental club, south congress. A little further to downtown but doable if it had been cooler. Edward was quick to respond to any questions and instructions to enter the cottage were easy enough. Would recommend his cottage to anyone visiting Austin.
