Willo was a great host. He made checking in and checking out very simple, and the house easily accommodated our group of 9. The walk to the French quarter was not too bad either, it took around 30 minutes.
I absolutely loved New Orleans! This house was the perfect, no frills, affordable house we wanted. We walked to Bourbon Street/ The French Quarter, it was about a 25 min walk. It wasn't a bad walk. We were very satisfied with the house. There is a lot of street parking as well.
Willo was a great host. He met us at the house as soon as we arrived in town. The house had all the basic amenities you would need. Definitely ideal to have a car when staying here. Plenty of street parking.
If you are looking for a basic, no frills crash pad this is good. I do think given the location you either (a) need your own car or (b) need to be savvy with public transportation. I fall into the second category. There is a Walgreens on the corner where you can purchase a 3-day Jazzy pass for $9. Across the street from the Walgreens on the left hand side is a bus stop where you can hop on the 51 or 52 (recommended) to Canal street. It's a short ride downtown and you can use your Jazzy pass to use the streetcar. I was in New Orleans for a conference and didn't stay out late so I'm not sure what the bus situation is later at night.
We were unhappy with the state of the place so we left and Willo gave us a full refund.
Willow's home was neat and spacious. He was out of town on business but was able to accommodate our last minute request after our original host completely stood us up (another story). If we had a car his place would have been adequate for visiting the french quarter but since it's pretty far from that part of town it is necessary to get a cab each time. Basically, I'd recommend his place for those with modes of transportation, but walkers should probably think twice.
Willo is the best host! His cute home is in a great location, especially for JazzFest! He knows our city very well and is very helpful when it comes to choosing from the many exciting things New Orleans has to offer.
Willo is a great host ! Always has great tips for things to do and places to see. His house is in a great location and is equipped with all the necessities. Come check it out!
