Giada is an amazing host. We love her so much - that this was the second time we used her apt. She met us at the apartment and took the time to review everything we needed to know. She even went into the history of the apartment and the buildings/sites nearby. The neighborhood is great. Safe and right in the middle of everything you need to get to in Rome. Close to the Metro, and walking distance to most sites.
Thanks for everything, the apartment made our trip that much more enjoyable (and my mom appreciated the elevator). :)
Giada's apartment was in perfect location, we walk to all attractions we visited during the 3 days, including Vatican, Forum..., the rooms are spacious and clean. Giada is very nice and responsive, she greeted as when we arrived, answered our questions and helped with arranging transportation to the airport. We had a very nice stay. Highly recommended.
Flat is in a great location, you can reach everything easily by public transport, but the best is if you just walk! 5-10 mins to Trevi or Spanish steps.
Giada is a very kind and helpful host. The communication was alright, she always replied and was supporting.
The panorama from the bedrooms is beautiful.
The bed wasnt that terrible for me and we didnt need the AC (been there in October).
Our stay here was good, especially for the location. Giada met us to give us the keys after a phone call she was there promptly. The internet worked great the whole 3 nights we spent there. We knew about the deposit ahead of time and it was returned when we returned the keys. Giada was very helpful in securing a driver for our return to the airport and she was there waiting and so was the driver right on time.....actually a little bit early. Our only complaint was the shower head wasn't working right which I think she fixed. We should have told her earlier than upon leaving. Our daughter and husband slept in the room with the twin beds which they said were very uncomfortable......3 nights with little sleep!! All in all it was a great stay and she was very kind and helpful!!
Fazit: Absolut empfehlenswert!
She showed us the place and asked for $100 euros for "a key deposit" we had been in more than 10 airbnb all over and we never heard about something like that. We let her know, but she said that was how she always did it. It was kind of weird, but we did get the money back at the end of the stay after we gave her the two keys. So, if you are planning to rent this place make sure you have enough cash.
The place was not super clean, but it was ok. We were staying 7 days, we knew that by about the 3rd day we were going to have to buy our own toilet paper and we were glad we had hand soap with us because she didn't have any in the house. Regardless of a broken shower head and the place needing a deep cleaning the location of the place was great and we felt we could deal for seven days with those "small details" and then we discover internet didn't work well at all. Our businesses required us being connected every day and this problem made it impossible! We keep trying to stay all positive and communicated with our guys in the office the best we could, we spent a lot of time on the internet at the restaurant next door. Things started to get stressful for us not being on top of our businesses as usual, then another big problem came up; the elevator stopped working the second day we were in town. We keep trying to communicate with our host, but she wasn't that great on responding. The elevator was a thing we could not be that flexible; we were in the 5th floor and carrying our 14month baby and for my 70yrs old parents and all the stuff we carry with us everyday... We e-mailed multiple times, text and after she didn't answer our phone calls, we decided to call airbnb and explain the situation. They had better "luck" than us and talked to her immediately. She supposed to call within the hour, but she never did. We called again airbnb was a little surprise she hasn't called and asked for more time. The internet situation was worst, but sometime while we were waiting, we hear some voices and next thing we know the elevator started working... ahhh!
Now the internet situation, my husband proposed a couple of solutions, (since this is what he does for a living) but sometimes we didn't get answers and sometime we would get a no about it a couple of days later. We ended finding internet in other places and worked from there. One day things started to work a little better and when we told her she said she was in the place fixing a day or two earlier, but she never told us. In general communication with our host was pretty bad! If you depend on wifi, be careful.
This is a basic apartment. I did not find it to be very clean, which I would expect seeing as a cleaning fee is paid. Single mattresses are painful to sleep on, the shower needs maintenance, the fridge has mould on the seal & the 100 euro paid as a bond is so wrong - airbnb put a security bond on other apartments I have stayed in & I find this a lot more comfortable. And, in case you missed it in the details, there is no hot water in the kitchen. Great location just not a great apartment.
I recently stayed at Giada's apartment for three nights with two friends. The apartment is pretty much as it looks in the photos--lovely and comfortable! While I did not have the pleasure to meet Giada and her beautiful bulldog due to end of August holidays, she was regularly in touch to be sure all was going as planned. The apartment is extremely well located to seeing the major sites of Rome which can be reached either by foot or nearby buses or metro. I would highly recommend this location based on the relationship of value to quality.
We stayed at Trevi /Spanish Steps studio in August 2013 , it was clean and tidy. Giada was very helpful with her instructions and we were met on arrival. The apartment had everything we needed. It is in a great location very close to the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps plus very close to a metro station and numerous restaurants. The air conditioner in the main bedroom leaked but this did not cause a problem. The lift was also appreciated.
We seemed to have quite a few problems with the appartment and that made our stay a bit uncomfortable. The positives were that the appartment has great views and location not bad either. It's about a 10 minute walk to the Trevi fountain which was nice. The negatives were the leaky AC in the main bedroom. Please read carefully that this appartment does not have AC in all rooms but just the master bedroom. The cleaning lady has to put a pot underneath the wall-unit AC to catch the dripping which drips constantly throughout the day making it hard to sleep. We had to empty the pot through out the day or it will overflow and it still splattered over the floor anyway. The remote control for AC didn't work so we couldn't turn it off at night when it was colder. The sheets and towels were too old and needs to be replaced. The floor needs mopping...we have an 18month old son so we had to clean the floor before he can run around. The shower head was too low and wouldn't stay on the base. Bathroom was smaller than we expected. We probably won't recommend this apartment to other people!
