I'm a writer and historian based in London, and I've just published a book about the Caribbean, called Empire's Crossroads (out now!). I'm just starting a new project about the relationship between the Hispanic world and the United States. I completed a PhD in history in 2010, and before that worked as a journalist in Britain for the Guardian and Observer, as well as other publications. I speak fluent Spanish, a smattering of Italian and a tiny bit of French. I have also lived in the US, the Caribbean, and Spain, and travelled throughout these places and much of Europe, as well as parts of Africa and South America.
