(website hidden) Fashionably Nerdy News

k…lala was created by Kristie P. Hale, CEO of Impulse Design Group, Inc. Kristie is a self proclaimed nerd who loves fashion, the arts & technology. This young CEO believes life is simple, be nice. Be nice to one another, to the animals & to the earth.

Growing up this young fashion lover wanted to find a way to make being smart really cool.

“When I was in school, I was suppose to sit in the front of my classes because I’m partially deaf, but the truth was, I really wanted to sit in the front.”

After co-founding Impulse Design Group, Inc. in 2003 Kristie really began to realize how cool it was to be smart. She was named CEO of Impulse Design Group, Inc. in 2004, at age 25 and has helped launch or assisted with styling over 100 brands across the country. She got a successful start with a Business Incubation program at the Women’s Business Center of Northern Virginia and was awarded a spot on the Community Business Partnerships’ Hall of Fame. Recently, she was a model, with other dubbed, “Power Moms” for Runway Moms for a Cause, held at the Nigerian Embassy in Washington, DC. The event included original works from the clothing brand L~Shandi. As an animal lover, it’s a thrill for her to work on projects with Fashion for Paws and the Washington Humane Society. Recently, she launched a fundraising project to support the American Cancer Society. The project is called The Hope Initiative and she will be photographing cancer survivors who are living a bright life after cancer. Kristie has been affected by cancer for most of her life, loosing her Nanny when she was 9 years old and recently her Grandmother. She herself has had scares with possible cancer diagnosis’s, including skin, breast and bladder cancer. The Hope Initiative is a way to celebrate those that have battled such a horrible disease and have won. It gives the rest of us hope and pushes us to continue to support cancer research.

This lover of fashion and many things nerdy decided it was time to bring all her loves together and create an online magazine where fashionable nerds can come together, get ideas and have fun with other fashionable nerds. Hence k…lala, Fashionably Nerdy News was born!

k…lala what does it mean? “k,” stands for kristie and “lala”, what she believes people hear sometimes when she is speaking, “lalalalalala”. Now there is finally a place where fashionable nerds can be understood! Nerds RULE!
