The apartment is clean, bright and sunny with two small balconies. In the kitchen are enough cooking utensils. There are bars, restaurants and a big supermarket nearby. It is about 10 minutes walk to the metro. A good place to stay when you don't like the tourist areas.
But ... I had a very bad start. Diane forgot to give me her changed telephone number and the number of the ring (there are 32 rings!). With the wonderful help of Airbnb I could receive the keys of Muss, after more than 2 hours waiting. (Airbnb compensate me for making costs, Diane not!)
Also more: the second bed for my don wasn't prepared, I must asked for towels, the wash was drying at the balconies. Muss was in a hurry, give me only the place of the supermarket, but didn't tell what to do with the keys by depart. The construction next to the house was awful for 2 days, after then it was reasonable.
It is a pity that the start was so bad. The apartment is fine, I was there during 11 days. With more attention for the visitors I should recommend it.
Diana's room was perfect for my needs. Located conveniently for my business in BCN, very near Gen Mitre, clean and virtually a private residence -- a almost never ran into my host. Clean and tidy home.
Our time in Barcelona was nice. The apartment was very hot though. It could use a fan. There is a lift in the building which was great but there are still a few stairs you have to take which wasn't the best with children/strollers. There was no toilet paper in the flat. The kitchen had the necessities but they appeared very well used and worn. We also didn't always get hot water. Some areas of the apartment could be a bit cleaner. (Also a few burnt out lights and the shower curtain is almost falling off the wall.) The apartment wasn't as awesome as we expected for the price but overall it was okay.
Muss is the host during our stay. He is really nice offering all information and very generous to share the best turkish tea and food with us. We had a relaxed and homy stay at his place.
We had a lovely stay in Diana's apartment. Wonderful neighborhood very convenient to metro, restaurants and nearby grocery store. The apartment itself is very bright and clean. It was perfect for my two daughters, myself and my husband. The only issue we had was that we were told by Diana's friend Muss that we could just leave the keys on the table and close the door as it did lock itself. There were no other instructions about the keys either online or written in the apartment so I thought this would be fine. I later received several stressed emails stating that I would need to give money for the next guests stay and that I'd basically created a mess. This did not leave me feeling very good after a really wonderful stay. I don't understand why there are not more than one set of keys and that this wasn't specifically stated anywhere. If you do stay here make certain you know exactly what to do with they keys. Other than this it was a lovely stay.
While Diana and I only emailed, I did meet with her friend Muss, who was very nice and personable. The apartment is fine and all the amenities functioned. There is also an elevator which was very helpful for bags.
One word of warning: if your train or flight gets delayed past the scheduled arrival time, Diane will collect an additional fee. (There was a French train strike, so we had to take a flight out of Antibes at the last minute that didn't arrive until midnight!) Of course, we knew this was a possibility, as she clearly outlines the additional fees you might endure. Also, we didn't realize that there was a construction zone right next to the apartment on two sides. Unfortunately, we woke up to construction on Saturday.
Barcelona is a great city, and we enjoyed our stay at Diana's.
The flat was as it is seen in the photos, apart from the fact it had no television, which we would have liked. It is basic and functional. Some aspects of cleanliness were not as we expected, but overall it was acceptable. The location is very good. The kitchen was good with plenty of crockery and cooking utensils.
Diana saved the day for us after we were scammed by another host...last minute booking for sure! The apartment has all the basic needs. No toaster, but there was a blender and coffee maker and of course all the dishes, glasses, pots, and silverware. The apartment building is quiet and has a lift, which was great. It's about a 10 min walk to the nearest metro, which was a little far for us with our kids, but once there, you can of course get anywhere. There are cafes, restarants and fruit stands nearby. We enjoyed Barcelona very much!
I had a good time in Barcelona. The apartment is very nice, although just a bit cold in February.
Diana/Muss, are great Hosts.
I experimented a great location in a residential area.
No doubt to contact then for next time!
I know Diana for more than 6 years. She is a friendly and reliable person. If I ever travel to Spain I would chose her apart.
