The house was perfect for my friends' reunion in the city. We comfortably fit seven in the different beds and were able to make a delicious brunch in the open kitchen Anna's quick communication was reassuring, and we didn't need anything. The neighborhood is great, and walkable to other excellent parts of the city. You converted a few friends into airbnb users!
Our family of 4 had an amazing stay here for such a great price!! Thank you Anna for putting the effort into making the apt looks nice n clean.
PROS: -generously stocked kitchen, bathroom.
-beautifully decorated house
-super spacious--7 ppl can def stay here
-affordable price for a whole apt
-beautiful tree-lined neighborhood
-super responsive host
-free parking and museum pass
CONS: if I have to think of anything then I should mention that the heat is not evenly distributed throughout the whole house. Namely the bathroom and the larger bedroom attach to it are always hotter while the rest of the house is still cold. I mitigate this by leaving the bathroom door open so heat is evenly distribute to the kitchen.
Other than that this is quite a gem to find in Chicago. I'm appreciative of the fact that Anna take hosting seriously and make sure that cleanliness goes hand in hand with aesthetic. You get a sense that the host put effort into the place and not just "putting you up in their empty space for a few days make a few bucks". A plus.
My friends and I were in town for a conference and had a wonderful time in Chicago, mostly because of this amazing apartment! It was, unbelievably, even better than the pictures. You immediately get a strong sense of the attention to detail when you walk in--everything from light fixtures to pictures to barware has been carefully curated and is such a treat to be around. We immediately felt at home in the apartment, which is located a short walk from Wicker Park and convenient to restaurants, shops, bars, etc. The area is lovely and safe. The Art Institute membership card, the record player and great selection of tunes, and the delicious granola were icing on the cake. We were very sad to leave. This was definitely a top Airbnb experience for me!
A couple of tips if you stay: one morning we had some difficulty getting a cab. I would recommend calling at least a couple of hours in advance (or even the night before) if you have somewhere important to go and are planning to take a taxi. Also, if you're a light sleeper, there's a box fan in the back closet that is great for white noise! I never had any issue with noise except for a couple of times in the morning when people upstairs were stirring. The fan totally blocked this out, so if you sleep on the light side, like me, it's good to make a mental note of its existence! :)
Oh, and Papa's Cache Sabroso (Puerto Rican within walking distance) is amazing. I highly recommend the chicken jibarito! Wow!
Our best airbnb experience yet! It was freezing in Chicago when we were there, but coming back to this place every day was a pleasure. The appartment is really spacious but feels cosy, was clean and neat, and decorated how we wish our own houses were. Anna and Mike are fantastic hosts, they always responded really quickly to all of our questions, checked that we were comfortable and warm enough, and helped us get to the train so we could get to the airport on the day we had to leave. Hopefully we'll be back to see Chicago when it's not covered in snow, and this place will be at the top of our list of places to stay. Thanks again for everything Anna, Mike, Henry and Helen!
Very nice flat, and kind welcome of Anna and Mike!
Friendly and helpful hosts--a lovely family. Easy walk to public transportation and clean, comfortable environment.
This place was perfect for what we needed: a nice place for all of us to stay while visiting family in Chicago! Three bedrooms; a nice shower; a stocked kitchen with coffee, grinder and sugars; they were even nice enough to leave us a record player turntable with some of our favorite records (no idea how they knew...but they did)!
Anna and Mike were very nice, and they thought of everything: parking passes for street parking even. We had a 5-month-old baby with us, and that posed no problem to them.
I highly recommend this spot for a stay in Chicago, one of the few places where you can drive easily and not have to fight for parking and/or pay through the nose for it.
Couldn't have asked for a better stay. Anna was incredibly accommodating. The apartment was gorgeous, the neighborhood is wonderful, definitely recommend!
My mom and I loved staying in this cute and cozy warm garden apartment. Anna was immediately available to help check in and check out. She gave us great recommendations for breakfast and dinner. We'll definitely be back!
Great apartment, great location, great host!
Anna & Mike stayed in my home for 1 evening with their 2 children Henry and Helen. Anna and Mike were great communicators, easy going and friendly. I enjoyed their company and their children very much. I highly recommend them as airbnb guests!
Anna and her family were awesome guests! Considerate, clean, super communicative through the whole reservation process. They treated my apartment like their own and I was fully confident leaving them the keys for a self check-in. My only regret is that I didn't have the opportunity to meet them and show them around town! They're both welcome in my home any time they're traveling thru the Cleveland area and I hope to get the chance to stay in one of their lovely abodes when I'm in the Windy City. Hope our paths cross again soon :)
Anna and her family stayed with me one night on route to their vacation elsewhere. They left my house tidy, they were quiet and they followed all the house rules. I couldn't ask for anymore.
Anna was the most wonderful guest! I'd have her back any time and highly recommend her as a guest to other hosts!
Anna is the bee's knees. Look forward to a great stay with a wonderful hostess who can direct you to all of Chicago's hidden secrets!
