I'm a former restaurant pastry chef and now work as an independent contractor teaching culinary arts as well as write and test recipes for cookbook authors. Being a native of California and having lived in the SF Bay Area for over 30 years I treasure our easy access to beautiful coastlines, the mountains and living in an area which attracts interesting and diverse people.
My husband and I both enjoy traveling domestically and internationally and often our trips are based on where our three adult children are at the time. Two of the three have been involved in international work in West and North Africa, but currently two reside on the East Coast and one in Denver..so our traveling is geared to sharing time with them. In the past we hosted foreign exchange students and traded homes with families abroad, and have often used businesses such as Intervac, (website hidden), and Airbnb when we travel as we prefer getting to know the "locals" by staying in a residence rather than a hotel.
We enjoy historic settings, comfortable and homey accommodations, and having access to "walking neighborhoods", local farmer's markets, good restaurants, museums. etc. We also enjoy reading, watching movies, and listening to jazz.
