I love to cook, snowboard, learn something new, design, play guitar, laugh, run (when the mood strikes), ping-pong (don't judge), tennis, movies and travel.
Had a great long weekend here with my wife, 9 month old son and parents--It's a really comfortable apartment in a cool neighborhood! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable weekend with family or friends!
The loft was a great place for my sisters and I to stay for a girls weekend! We enjoyed the modern feel of it, the safety of the building, and the hospitality of Eric. Their home is obviously lived in during the week, but they welcomed us to use anything we needed. The huge windows looking out over the city were gorgeous, the appliances were modern, and the furniture in each room was comfortable. The cat was friendly and occasionally peeked out for a visit, which delighted my 4 year old niece and 10month old nephew! We had a fantastic weekend and would highly recommend that you contact Eric if you are looking for a quick getaway to Philly!
Eric's apartment is great. The beds are comfy, the bathrooms big, the kitchen and living space well-appointed. I especially appreciated the indoor parking garage. The location is terrific, too, a comfortable walk to Center City and South Street. Cabs are also easy to come by if you have farther to go. If driving, it's easy getting to and from the apartment, whether off I-95, heading to/from the airport, or motoring about the city. Eric's neighborhood looks like it's been revitalized in recent years, yet it maintains an urban edge. I would definitely stay here again.
We came as two couples to see a concert. The apartment is gorgeous, tastefully furnished and decorated. Everyone was really impressed. We even used the gym, which was a pretty great setup. The location was great and only a 20 min walk to center city. Eric was a great host and has obviously perfected the Airbnb thing so that there was no trouble getting our keys and getting set for our weekend. He was very responsive whenever we had a problem. Next best thing to a hotel!
The only thing I might mention is that the walls are super thin between the two bedrooms, so you will hear anything and everything the people in the room next door are doing, which can be awkward if you're staying with another couple.
The place was just as advertised. It was easy to get in, park, and settle in. There were no surprises, and the place was clean with great cook-ware. We felt at ease to ask questions about the area and communicate as necessary.
The apartment was perfect for our 4 person group of merry tourists. The apartment is spacious, attractive, comfortable, and well-equipped. The building is unique, with 24/7 coverage on the door, parking, and a fitness center. Because it’s always sunny in Philadelphia , walking to Center City, South Street and Independence Mall was a pleasure. No, it was a necessity – to burn off the food from the Italian Market, Gino’s Steaks (or was it Pat’s?), Marra’s, and a great Mexican food truck on Washington Avenue. Tired at the end of our days, the apartment was a perfect place for relaxing and enjoying quiet time. Communication with our hosts went very well. Eric even sent us an instruction manual for operating everything in the building and apartment – even the entertainment remote and washing machine.
I'll start off by saying that the apartment is amazing, great views, great lighting, great everything. Beds are BEYOND comfortable, so comfy that when I arrived home after my stay I cursed my own bed. About a twenty minutes brisk walk into downtown where the shops are at, although we did not use public transportation we did rely on taxis. Since we were traveling in a group of five, getting a van was CLOSE to impossible, we had to beg taxi drivers to allow the five of us in one taxi. Apparently it is illegal to chofer more then 4 people in one cab. We named the cat "Casper" because of its lack of presence, we only saw it about 3 times. Would definitely recommend Eric's place, great experience.
The reservation was canceled 33 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
I had a great stay at this apartment-- Eric gave us easy to follow instructions, and the building felt very secure and was in a safe neighborhood. The loft was in good condition when I arrived, and it was easy to find the building downtown. The free on site parking was a boon, as well as the closeness to South Street and a major subway station. We attended the Made in America festival, and a taxi ride to the Ben Franklin parkway only cost about $13 (tip included). I would definitely stay there again, and would recommend this apartment to any other travelers looking to stay somewhere nice and central in Philly.
Eric and Jen were great guests. They communicated well, were friendly and outgoing. They left everything clean and neat. We enjoyed having them and welcome them back anytime.
These guys were absolutely awesome. We loved hanging out with them, and only wish we'd had more time! As guests, they were clean, quiet, and considerate. Nothing more you could ask for. I'd highly recommend them as guests.
Eric and his guest were lovely. They took great advantage of the house, the kayaks, pool, and the close proximity to downtown Annapolis. They were most pleasant!
I really enjoyed hosting Eric and Anne and have no complaints about the experience. They were communicative, respectful of the place, and a nice couple to get to know. Thanks for visiting!
Eric was a great guest, very considerate; he left the place in perfect condition. He was quick to respond to confirm the booking which makes things easier.
i would not hesitate to rent to him any time or recommend him to anyone as a guest!
This loft is the kind of home you see in Dwell Magazine or on the homepage of Airbnb! You can tell from the photos and the description how amazing it is, but what you don't know is how perfect the location is and what to expect from Eric.
You are basically in the Italian Market, steps away from Passyunk Square (think original cheesesteaks and an up-and-coming neighborhood with organic coffee shops and al fresco oyster bars), a few blocks from South Street and a quick cab ride anywhere else you need to be. The view itself will tell any visitor you are in the heart of this great city.
I have been a friend of Eric's for 10 years and used to rent this same room. Eric has built his character and career on trust and reputation; he approaches his Airbnb hosting the same way. Just as with Airbnb travel, you get what you give with Eric, so those more adventurous souls should feel free to challenge him to a ping pong game or ask for some hidden local-only spots in the city (and he knows the best places to get authentic Al Pastor tacos and pho). Expect him to help you with any questions you may need and don't be surprised if you leave with great Philly memories and a new friend.
Having known Eric for years, I can attest to the phrase "what you see is what you get." The loft is amazing, and as modern and spacious as you can get in Philly. It is impeccably clean and well-maintained, and fully stocked with cooking gadgets and spices (if cooking while on vacation is your thing); otherwise, Philly has a bunch of Iron Chefs and other delicious restaurants nearby. The loft is like a hotel, with every amenity one could need (gym, wifi, cable tv, comfy beds, plush towels, laundry, and of course, a ping pong table), and easy access to parking, public transportation, and cabs.
Staying at Eric's house is just like staying as your parents: warm and inviting, what's yours is mine, clean up after yourself! The cat, Kitty, is a sweetheart, and is a comforting companion for weary travelers. I highly recommend checking out the loft, you won't want to stay anywhere else in Philly again!
