This was my first experience using airbnb, and so I really wasn't sure what to expect. I felt that Bridget was easy to communicate with, both before, during, and after. She quickly responded to any questions I had, and provided me with all information requested.
I was visiting family in Chicago, and wanted to be near my mom, and near the fwy to visit family in suburbs.
First off, there were no surprises as the photos were well done and show the apt exactly as is; it is quite roomy, certainly more than enough for my needs (traveling with adult son), as there were 2 bedrooms, and we each had our own full bathroom as well. We didn't actually spend a lot of time there as we were always out and about visiting, but if we had been we would have been plenty comfortable. There is a huge library of DVD's to choose from, a full kitchen to cook meals, a nice balcony to relax on out back, etc.
The neighborhood was family-oriented. We felt very comfortable parking and walking the area. My son walked a couple of blocks for food and returned with a meal of steak, rice and beans, all for $4. He mentioned seeing many other local eateries within walking distance. This apt is on a tree-lined street just a block off the main streets. We drove everywhere but had we needed public transportation, there are buses and the El stop nearby.
Be aware that there are quite a lot of steps to get up to the apartment. I arrived by myself with several bags of groceries, a medium sized piece of luggage, a carry-on, and a heavy purse, and it was quite a challenge getting everything up there. (If you are arriving with others this shouldn't be a problem!). Storage was a bit tight so we ended up laying most of our clothes out in the respective bedroom areas.
All in all, this apartment did the trick for us. It was easy to find; we were always able to park either right outside the building, or within a half block away when we returned home late on the weekend; there was plenty of space, and we had a great time in Chicago!
We could not have picked a better place to stay in Dallas! My husband had surgery at Baylor Hospital, and this property is very convenient to the hospital and shopping/parks etc. It was nice to come home from the hospital and be in comfort. Bridget was incredibly helpful and always there when we needed her. There was another guest staying in the one bedroom suite (off the garage). This was not a problem at all, and actually was one of the highlights of our trip. It was fun getting to know another traveler, and Kristin even helped out with our kids. Thank you so much Bridget. You are the best!
Bridget is an excellent host, very accommodating, very quick to reply to messages and texts. The bed was insanely comfortable!!! The location is smack dab in the middle of everything. Jacuzzi tub, great conversation, check-in and check-out could not have been easier. I really enjoyed the neighborhood as well. Will definitely stay here again if it's available.
Bridget is awesome! Her home is beautiful and a great location for enjoying a leisurely stroll or bike ride, then shopping and night out on the town.
Bridget was great! I had some unexpected things that came up and she allowed me to cancel my reservation. I told her if she was ever in Austin, she would have a free place to stay here at my home.
I loved my stay at Bridget's. The location was ideal for me, especially the proximity to White Rock Lake. Access to a nice mountain bike was definitely a plus! The accommodations were clean, confortable, and spacious. Bridget was a very warm and friendly host, always forthcoming with suggestions if needed. Hope to go back on a future visit.
Bridget was a very kind and generous host. Very accommodating. The suite was clean, quaint, and in a great neighborhood. Highly recommended
Bridget's place is AWESOME! She was very prompt with all communications, gave us lots of tips on where to eat, and was a warm and generous host. The space is very roomy... even plenty of room to do t'ai chi indoors! Wifi is fast. Off-street parking. There's a Whole Foods half a mile away that's huge... and the best of all is that White Rock Lake is about a mile away with a 10 mile jogging and bike path around it. There's not a better place in Dallas to stay. I'm definitely staying here next time I'm in Dallas.
I'd recommend this to anyone looking to visit the Lakewood area. It was perfect for a girls' weekend, but would be great for a couple or a family, also. The house is charming, and the location is fabulous. Whiterock Lake is easily accessible, and there are many fun restaurants and attractions within a few miles. Bridget provides tons of info if you want it, and she kept in contact about anything we needed.
Bridget went out of her way to accommodate, from sending me a special offer for shared space to let me borrow her bike. The location is great, walking distance to groceries (Whole Foods), less than 30 mins to downtown on transit (use (website hidden) transit), near recreational trails @ White Rock Lake.
Bridget is a lovely lady! She went above and beyond as a guest. She always communicated (more than any other guest I have had to date!) well. I highly recommend her.
Bridget was a great guest. The room was kept nice and clean and she communicated with me both on check in and checkout in a timely manner which i liked. She even helped to clean up some before checking out. I would recommend her to anyone anywhere anytime. Thanks for staying.
Great, clean, and communicative guest!
bridget is a dear friend & colleague whom i adore. i've known her for over six years and she's a delightful walking, writing & traveling companion. i'd travel around the world with her in a heartbeat & embrace the adventure of her wit, humor & keen tastes.
i've also stayed at her beautiful garden cottage on Vickery and it's extremely comfortable, clean and inviting. the area she lives in is one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in all of Dallas; quaint, lots of huge trees, near Lakewood & White Rock Lake (walking distance, in fact), near Whole Foods Market & the old Lakewood Theatre. it's the PERFECT place to stay while visiting Dallas and she is the perfect hostess. enjoy!
