This place is adorable! It's in the lovely Seabright area, close to Shopper's Corner, Whole Foods, and of course, the yummy Buttery. The light in the cottage is fantastic and the street is very quiet and peaceful. We loved being back in Santa Cruz, and we loved Nick and Mia's place! We'd definitely book again.
Great space in walking-distance to ocean. Clean and quiet apartment. Mia was helpful to get us started. We really enjoyed the place and the city.
My husband and I stayed here for 3 days in January. Nick and Mia were very responsive and easy to work with. The booking process was quick and easy and we were able to arrive/check-in late without any problem. The apartment is in a cute residential neighborhood (felt safe at night) with a few cafes within easy walking distance. The apartment was very clean, quiet and private. We did not cook while we were here, but the kitchen seemed well equipped. There is plenty of space for 2-4 people but the bathroom is a bit small if you have 4 adults. There is wonderful natural light and wood floors throughout. The master bed was very comfortable and there were plenty of towels.
Santa Cruz is a funky, fun, real town. Having a car here is a necessity. There is a large transient presence, especially downtown, but no one was offensive or aggressive to us. There are a few areas to avoid at night (the boardwalk area and the path by the river, specifically), but we drove everywhere, so it was a non-issue. The downtown is definitely worth a visit, with unique shops and good food. We would also recommend a walk along West Cliff for the beautiful views and to watch the surfers. We had great breakfasts at Linda's Seabreeze Café (walking distance from the apt), Zachary's, and Walnut Ave. Café. Golda's on the pier is also good for breakfast and lunch. The Monterey peninsula is only an hour drive south and makes an easy day trip.
Overall, a visit to Santa Cruz is a fun way to spend a few days and this apartment is a great home base. We will be back (we have family there) and will rent this apt. again. We have pre-teen children and would stay here with them, also.
We had a great experience staying in your seabright home! It was cozy and just the perfect size for us 4. We were 4 massage therapist who work together traveling to Santa Cruz for a training. It was fantastic to be able to cook and hang out together in that space... A lot more fun than staying at a hotel!
The house was very clean, kitchen equipped with pots and pans, beds were comfortable, the shower was good! The only thing we were hoping is that there would be a washer and dryer as we had some things to wash... Other than this, we all agreed it was a perfect stay! Thank you so much!
Nick and Mia were tremendous hosts. The gave us everything we needed to know before our stay and were easy to get ahold of when we had some hiccups with our arrival time. They were fantastic, flexible, and generous. The apartment is cozy and a short walk or drive to much that Santa Cruz has to offer. Note that the apartment is in a dense neighborhood with an apartment sharing a wall and two neighbors' backyards adjacent.
We stayed for Christmas and New Years. It was a great trip. Santa Cruz is a great spot to travel north and south along the coast. The hosts were always responsive to our questions. The apartment is in a quiet spot in Santa Cruz and the neighbors are friendly. They are so friendly that they will ask you to jump their car twice. It was well stocked with towels and supplies in order to stay for a long period of time. The beds are very comfortable and the second bedroom is ideal for a family setup. The heater worked well as it was chilly the week we were there. The apartment was only an hour from Monterey and from San Francisco.
We recommend this place for small families looking for a place to stay near the beach.
Our family had a delightful Thanksgiving at Nick and Mia's cozy beach charmer. The weather was perfect on Thursday so we enjoyed our feast on the side patio. The beach is very close which made the stroll down to it for some football and frisbee a great way to walk off the turkey! Driving in reverse up the long driveway to get to the street was a bit of a challenge so we chose to park on the street where tree was plenty of parking. Thanks!
I'm so glad you had a great time! Come back again!
Thank you Nick and Mia for sharing your sunny beach house with us! You made the booking easy and everything was just as described, comfortable and clean. The location was excellent! We biked everywhere, to see the butterflies, the boardwalk, the beach and to restaurants. The list of restaurant recommendations was perfect for us! We tried several and they were all delicious and kid friendly! We will definitely be coming back to Santa Cruz to stay with you again! :)
Great Pamela we'd LOVE to have you!
Aside from the awkward entrance issues, this well-designed space is well-located, a lot of room for the money and has a very comfy, huge bed.
Carie, I'm sorry the lockboxes were confusing! We'll work on that. The other key on the ring is for the laundry, if you needed to use the laundry room. Cheers!
Nick & Mia's place in Santa Cruz was great - just as described online! My boyfriend and I were able to walk to Seabright beach and loved having the kitchen to cook dinner. The king bed was also super comfortable. Would definitely recommend this place for a stay in the lovely beach town of Santa Cruz. Thanks again Nick & Mia!
