When I arrived at Kay's place she welcomed me with some warm hearted drinks, a nice chat and later a home cooked dinner. I also enjoyed meeting up a friend of her's over a brunch and a couple of days later the movie in the community center. I'm happy she introduced me in riding on the back of a motorcycle in PP (makes me feel more comfortable with it during the rest of my trip).
The room is quiet, the airco cool, the shower warm (although I prefered cold ones) and the Japanese washing machine did it's job. The climb up to the 3rd floor is a good exercise to keep your condition to the point during holiday.
Last but not least a special dedication to the cat, who's lovely in her own way! Miss her saying hello's in the morning!
We arrived at Kays easily from directions giving $2 tut tut from Riverside where bus from PP drops off. lovely place and talkative cat, s3 flights of stairs but OK if only coming and going once a day. Little out of tourist area but was okay.
Kay is very chilled out girl with plenty of information but hardly seen her as she was working most times. all in all nice experience and thank you Kay for the welcome drink
Good host. Kay is very helpful, sweet and her cat is really playful. Location is ok and the room is very clean. Good choice.
I very enjoyed staying here.
The host is very nice.
Nice kitchen, cute cat, relaxing room.
It was very nice.
What can I say about this experience?
Kay is adorable, gentle, curious and smart. She is the perfect host and we miss her.
If you're going to Phnom Penh, don't miss this stop. The room is quite large and silent, there's a very nice kitchen and a comfortable living room.
The block is interesting, with a lot of services and local amenities.
Kay was a great host. She was very welcoming, and provided us with a lot of information. The house was well located, clean and the room was excellent. I can't think of anything negative about our stay.
The resident cat was a nice bonus.
We highly recommend Kay's place.
Kay is lovely & I highly recommend staying in her home.
I managed to book last minute which was great. The directions were correct & the tuk tuk found it easily. (no easy feat in Phnom Penh!) The room was clean, quiet, bigger than it looks in the pictures, the air-con worked & I slept like a log. The actually house was also nice, homely and relaxing. I spent time with Kay as she offered to cook which I hadn't expected. We cooked for each other, hung out, had nice chats & lovely food. (Which is helped by the amazing organic shop downstairs, and mutual taste in food).
The actual area is interesting, local rather than being touristy, but really close to tourist attractions.
Kay had left information & books which were really useful before going exploring, and to gain an insight into the history. I hadn't done much research being a last minute trip & Kay helped me loads, giving me ideas to do, tourist stuff as well as other ideas. Including a Khmer photoshoot which I did with my friends after leaving Kay's & was great fun! She also suggested a local sky bar, where we went together with my friends & had a fun evening. She's great company & a good laugh!!
Chequers the cat, is also good fun!
Kay was a perfect host! Apartment is clean and centrally located, with all the amenities, including a lovely cat, Checkers. The room is large, with a nice wardrobe. There is a bit of traffic noise, but this is Phnom Penh and to be expected.
There's a great organic grocer, spa, Thai Hout (grocery store with a Blue Pumpkin outlet), ramen noodle place, coffee shop, all within spitting distance.
Great to be back in Phnom Penh!
The apartment is great and spatious with open spaces and a balcony with a chair to sit. It has a nice sunset view. The room has no window, but little glass that let some daily light coming in. It's quiet at night. We felt comfortable in the room. The kitchen is a prefect place to cool a meal. Kay has been welcoming and we share conversation together. We recommend it.
Kay is great! She's super laid back and down to earth and straight forward. She's got a pretty home, great kitchen, perfect location, nice and clean room. Next to a few organic grocery stores too.
Kay and her home are both wonderful. She is very accommodating, helpful with a good sense of humor. Couldn't ask for a better host.
The room was clean, cool and had an abundance of information on the city. There is an ATM right across the street. The stay at her house is definitely in my most memorable places I have stayed out of the five weeks I've been traveling. I'd recommend Kay to any AirBnB traveller who wants a relaxed, enjoyable time in the heart and heat Phnom Penn.
Hi. My name's Keogh Johnston, I've known Kay for about 25 years. She's honest, reliable, practical, and has loads of integrity. She has looked after houses/apartments in a number of cities/countries. She's a woman of the world, and yet very down-to-earth. She gets on easily with everyone and is very kind and giving, in fact she has dedicated her working life to helping those in need. I've shared a house with her, and I can vouch for the fact that she is absolutely a breeze to live with.
Kay's apartment in downtown Phnom Penh (BKK1), is close to everything you need like local and Western restaurants, bars, nightlife, cinemas, gyms, shopping and markets (BKK1, Russian, Orussey, and Central), as well as all the main national and international offices and embassies. It's has plenty of local transport at the door: it's 7 minutes to Riverside (Mekong) and 45 minutes to the airport.
The apartment is on the 3rd floor in a secure building. The apartment is large and airy with a/c. It is decked out with all the mod-cons: cable tv, wireless internet, and a fully functional kitchen. I have no hesitation in recommending staying here: you'll love it!
To whom it may concern
I’ve known Kay Lefevre since about 1994 when we worked together for about 6 years. We were both on a couple of work related committees at that time. Since then we have kept occasional contact by email for the last 10 years or so. I visited her in Pnom Penh for about a week only recently, in June.
Kay is a very caring, warm, considerate person who gives a lot of her time to others. She is a very good organiser and completely reliable, decent and sensible in every way. She has a relaxed demeanour. Everyone likes her.
In the past, for a time, she looked after houses while the owners were away. She can be trusted by anyone.
She has taken good care of the place where she stays currently, as I would have expected.
You could not find a better person for this role.
I met Kay During an assignment in Phnom Penh and since then she has become a trusted and valuable friend. Kay has been most helpful in providing accommodation and assistance to me during subsequent visits overseas and we've both had lots of fun fretting around on Kaye's Vespa and enjoying cheap dining experiences. I would recommend Kaye to other members because I have always known her to be reliable, good company and not afraid of a challenge or two.
