We rented all three houses in this private enclave in Paia for a one week holiday over New Years. Laura was the ultimate host - helping us well before we arrived. She helped us with babysitter recommendations and with setting up a daily housekeeper for our large group. She was available by text and phone throughout our entire stay, and stopped by a few times to make sure we were okay - there were two major storms that blew through during our stay. The houses are nicely appointed, comfortable, well stocked and super private. The view from the front yard is all ocean - with surfers directly out in front. The pool is clean, a good size for adults and kids and nicely nestled out of the wind coming off the ocean. The houses are well built and uniquely designed.
Thank you for your feedback, I really appreciate the reviews. I am glad you enjoyed staying a Lani Paradise and I hope we can host you again in the future!
Great stay! This house is not oceanfront, but rather tucked back behind another house on the same property. It does have a nice view from the second floor balcony. The hangout area is well laid out.
Laura was the perfect host. She went above and beyond by finding us a babysitter and daily housekeeper. Everyone she recommended was top notch. This house has a beautiful view of the ocean!
The reservation was canceled 41 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Plumeria is 'as advertised' -- great ocean view, huge lanai, well-kept and beautiful property, close to Paia. It's even nicer than advertised -- the downstairs master suite was better than I expected, the furniture was excellent quality. The kitchen bar is beautiful, hand-worked wood. The villa is private and quiet. FYI for visitors, the walk into Paia takes about 15 minutes, along a busy highway with no sidewalks. Direct ocean access is very rocky and not walkable, although there is a small public beach not far away. With those caveats, I highly recommend this great tucked-away bit of paradise.
We hired Oceanfront Villa and the adjacent cottage for a family reunion over Christmas (we were 12 adults, a 4 year old and 2 babies under 1). The location is perfect to get away from it all - the day we arrived we were spoilt with several double rainbows and the sea below was teaming with turtles (and at times surfers!). Definitely a place to relax and take it all in. It's not far from town but I would recommend a car if you really want to explore the surrounds and swimming beaches. I would definitely recommend the Villa as you can explore the rest of the island easily from here.
The house is just roomy enough for such a large group and the rooms are all well sized. It has a LOVELY rustic feel. We had all we needed (good bath towels and swimming towels too) but the kitchen requires a much needed upgrade and the dishwasher in particular needs replacing. We had to do a lot of washing up manually which was a challenge with such a large group not to mention being in holiday mode! There are also a couple of maintenance issues which were noticed but not a massive problem. We understand work is in progress to fix these. Wifi is fantastic - 10 times better than our hotel in Honolulu!
Laura and her brother were amazingly welcoming and attended to any issues / queries right away... and even came out on Christmas Eve to fix the ovens. They were easily contactable and went out of their way to be helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. They even installed a line to dry / hang out our clothes as the only other option was a dryer (I gather it's an Australian thing!). Laura arranged for a cot and extra bedding for the children before we arrived.
All in all I would definitely recommend Oceanfront Villa - you won't be disappointed.
The house reverberated with sounds of the ocean, the open plan made it seem even more spacious, and we reveled in the generous selection of towels. Thanks for a lovely stay!
We arrived at night, so it was difficult to see the keypad at the gate. With a tiny flashlight and several attempts, we were able to gain entry. This property is a bit more rustic than the photos show on this site, but it was still a lovely place to spend the week. Laura was very helpful with the minor problems we had during our stay, and worked quickly to ensure our comfort.
Ginger itt age was worth every penny! While it may not have 'beach' access, it does still have ocean access(its a bit rocky) and a view that is OUT-of-this-WORLD!! If you have never been to MAUI and you are looking for a quaint part of the island with mom&pop shops and a small town feel, got to Pa'ia and stay with this group! They have other adjoining property as well to house a bigger group. A private parking lot, private pool and hot tob for the whole property. The plumeria trees lining the property bring in the best fragrance :) any issues and just contact Laura.
Ginger Cottage is smaller, and does have two bedrooms. If you are two couples and want ultimate privacy I would not recommend this property. One bedroom does not have closed in walls. Meaning the walls don't goto the ceiling. So if you wanna be loud (wink wink) or not have anyone hear you--- you will not have that luxury.
Laura, I still think that plastic cups would be great to be able to goto the pool ;)
Katerina was an amazing host. I actually returned to stay at the property a second time during the same trip to Maui because the location and hosting were so top-notch. I've stayed in a number of AirBnB locations around the world, and so far, Katerina was the best host I've had.
