I'm a scientist who recently completed her training in chemistry and toxicology, and am now in travel mode before diving back in to work. My current travel usually involves visiting and catching up with friends that I've neglected during my studies. My favorite places to visit are mostly urban-- NYC, San Francisco, Chicago, Miami and lately the desert...or anywhere there's excellent food (yes there are good places to eat in desert places).
My travel style is usually light/streamlined, learned by traveling for business in my past life. I usually spend mornings wherever I stay but then I am usually roaming wherever I visit, and get in late. Given that I was born and raised in Chicago, my default is to wander in big cities. As a guest, I'm fairly laid back, yet the first question I'll probably ask is where to get coffee. I sleep like a rock so cats or dogs jumping on me will not wake me. You'll probably see me in the morning for a bit, then I leave to hang out with friends.
In terms of interests, right now I'm catching up on reading for pleasure instead of science, and that could be anything. Shockingly, I missed Slaughterhouse Five in high school and college and that's the last recent book that blew my mind.
Since this site asked about mottos, I suppose mine is that I don't make judgements ahead of time so I don't miss something interesting.
