Hi. I am a spiritual seeker (mostly Buddhist), a collector of books and Mexican folk art, a "mother" to four felines, and a professor of world religions at a small university in the cornfields of Ohio. While I sometimes travel with my husband Tom (a native San Franciscan and fifth-generation Californian), I typically drive about 7000 miles each summer by myself. San Francisco, Tucson, Santa Fe, and Washington (close to my home town in northern Virginia) are my favorite U.S. cities. I have visited Colombia, Mexico, and India and wish to see many other countries as well. In mid-2015 Tom and I plan to flee the Midwest for southern Arizona, where we will enjoy sun, speak Spanish, make chiles rellenos, and read the books we've accumulated since I was a grad student in Berkeley over 20 years ago. Although I spent part of fall 2012 in a walkable urban neighborhood and improved my fitness level, I could not survive without chocolate, Coke, pizza, and burritos. I have been a hospice volunteer, and my most interesting paid job thus far was in a mental institution. Day of the Dead is my favorite holiday, and I have the papier-mache and clay skulls to prove it. I am neat and organized, and I love to meet people and hear about their adventures.
