The boat was really nice and cozy for its price it was amazing,
We had a fantastic time on the Cathy Sue. From sunset cocktails to sunrise coffee, we couldn't have asked for a more unique and fun getaway--truly redefining glam camping / "glamping." The boat's location is prime-- giving you just enough of an escape from it all out in the harbor, but also providing easy access to everything one could need in Nantucket's center. Cara and Jim were lovely, accommodating and accessible. The public showers were clean and refreshing after a long day of cruising around the island on our mopeds. We witnessed the most gorgeous sunset of all time from the bow, and will be dreaming of our return next year!
A must experience! Traveling to Nantucket isn't cheap, and let's face it, you're there to be on the water, so why not skip to the point and book a sleeper boat! My fiancé and I have ventured once a summer to Nantucket for years, but this by far the best way to experience it. We loved staring and ending our day on the boat. There is plenty of space inside to relax, but we spent the time dropping a fishing line off the boat and sipping a happy hr bevy on the captains upper deck. Total fun. The king size Beth bed was more comfortable than we would have expected and the port hole hatch provided plenty of cool breezes in the evening.
Cara and Jim were overly accommodating and super quick to answer any questions. We missed the last ferry down on Friday night and they made our late arrival smooth. The boat launch was closed for the season, but Jim gave us our own tender to get back and forth. It couldn't have been easier to navigate, although we do have experience as boaters growing up on the water.
It's not for everyone, but if you want a unique experience, this is a mist book. Can't wait to come visit next season.
Staying on Cathy Sue was a lot of fun, and very relaxing. Checking in was easy, we were able to head straight out to the boat and jump on. Our outdoor shower bag emptied one night and Cara was very responsive at fixing it for us the next day. The photos are a little flattering but I'd say still accurate to what you'll find. We had some hesitation after reading a few of the reviews, but in the end I found the Cathy Sue to be fairly advertised and a fun, relatively affordable, way to experience Nantucket for a few days. Thanks, Cara!
Cool experience. Hanging out on a boat in the harbor was just lovely. Host was friendly and everything was well described. Would rent again.
Overall excellent. Jim and Cara are both easy to reach and very accommodating. Check in was seamless. For ferries, either will do however the hy-line drops you off right at the dock (not a deal breaker as we took the steamship).
The boat experience is awesome. French press with fresh grounds in the morning, beautiful views, and crisp clean sheets which makes the bed a gem at night while star gazing.
Highly recommend youngs bike shop. In two days we biked 70miles -- bike trails take you to madaket, sconset, nobadeer, surfside, cisco, and children's beach. For food Millie's is a must as well as the Straight Wharf/Cru, Cisco breweries as well as an organic farm nearby. If Jim's there he'll hook you up with all the great spots.
It was a wonderful experience being on the Cathy sue. However, the listing photos were a bit deceiving. Unfortunately, the boat needs a lot of TLC, and it was quite dirty. My dad owned a 40' Pacemaker, which we restored from its horrific beginnings, in which my dad then lived on for a year, so I am no stranger to boating. I understand how difficult it is to maintain a boat like the CS, but we were able to keep our boat tidy and clean, therefore; I definitely expected the same. Cara and Jim were very helpful hosts, however; and responded to all inquiries and requests.
Host was welcoming and made everything very easy. Listing was accurate and the boat was a nice place to spend the night. Would recommend this host and this listing to friends.
So awesome! "Glamping" on the water and nice treats/surprises on board,
