Alison is an amazing host, I stayed at her place for an overnight after a wedding in jocotepec. We felt immediately welcome into her beautiful house, we had the greatest night of sleep in the impeccable and coozy room just to wake up to the sing of birds and a delicious breakfast with Alison, a lovely lady who was always thoughtful and kind. We even had a chance to go for a refreshing swim on the pool before we had to leave. It was short stay but I'm sure I'll looking for a chance to return for a longer period of time.
We loved our stay here. The listing is 100% accurate. The accommodations are roomy, comfortable, and luxurious. The staff is friendly and helpful. Alison is attentive to every email with questions and requests and recommendations. We stayed for 2 months, and worked remotely using the internet. Here comes my only criticism of the property: for personal use such as emails the internet connection is adequate. For anything more involved such as downloading files, it can be frustrating. We also bought Vonage for our time there, and the phone service was not consistent. I cannot put that responsibility on Alison for faulty technology services, because the infrastructure for these things is not as developed in MX as in the states. And not many people are going to be working from this location as we were.
To reiterate, if you need a beautiful home, in an area of Mexico that gives you access to local entertainment, dining, and community; while providing public transportation to many must see locations in MX - this is the place to stay!!
Alison was welcoming and full of information about Ajijic although we had been there many times and didn't need too much help. The room was bright and the bed was comfortable and the bath was large. Breakfasts were more than sufficient and delicious. Breakfast on the terrace with a view of the mountain across the lake is a plus.
Wow! Alison's house was even better than we'd imagined it would be.
We traveled with my daughter, son-in-law, and my two school-aged grandchildren. We called Victor from the taxi on the way from the airport, at the number Alison had provided. He met us at the house and showed us which keys went with what. We'd hoped that would go smoothly, and it did.
The layout of the house is different than most houses north of the border in that the rooms all open up to a central courtyard. There's one queen bed/bathroom that is off the dining room and kitchen. Then, there are two other rooms - - one with a twin bed, desk & its own bathroom and then the large master suite with decadent bathroom. These two rooms are only accessible from the courtyard, so once all the rooms were locked up for the night, you're incommunicado with whomever is staying in the queen bedroom off the kitchen. That's great for couples who want privacy, but it made it a little tricky for a close family. However, once we got used to it, it was doable. There is also a queen bed and bathroom down by the pool which is nice, yet only slightly less fabulous than the rest of the house.
The house is very well designed and appointed. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms clean, pretty, in tip-top shape. The living room or TV/music room is also separate from the other rooms, and off the central courtyard. We were happy to discover Alison's DVD collection and watched "Somewhere in Time," a family favorite.
The pool is luxurious - - larger than it looks in the photos - - and is solar heated. It has a lovely lion fountain that cascades into the pool when turned on. It's about 4 feet deep, which was perfect for us and the kids. Jorge, the gardener meticulously maintains the grounds and is a kind man. We loved Josefina, the housekeeper, who provided a warm, knowing presence twice/week and answers to questions. She keeps the house extremely well maintained. My family needs an ultra-clean house to combat asthma/allergies, and it was such a relief for them to find that so far from home.
The house is really a show-stopper, and you feel it from the moment you walk through the gates. You can feel love in all the details. The location (Chula Vista) is great - - nestled between Chapala and Ajijic. The house is walking distance to Super Lake (which actually carries Rudy's gluten-free bread, e.g.!) And next to Super Lake is a good carniceria. San Antonio Tlayacapan is the cutest pueblito with its own plaza just on the other side of the main road, towards the lake. We walked there for Independence Day and watched some beautiful dancing and festivities.
The rain, thunder and lightening made our trip magical. It was truly an honor to stay at Alison's house, and we hope to visit again.
Alison and her husband are such a very nice cupel. Very very warmhearted and helpful. I loved the sign at the garage door which was cells me welcome! Its a very nice place on a great waterfront. The cabin was lithe, cozy and very comfortable. The breakfast was amazing! Alison always helped my to find what I was looking for. Thank you so much, I really appreciate that! Hope to come back.
One of the most amazing laces to stay! The cosy "snug" boat house was giving us a perfect rest and sweet dreams! Alison and her family are very creative, inspiring and incredibly great hosts! We felt very well looked after!
Fantastic!!! Alison made us very welcome and her place is as beautiful as it looks in the photos. The 'Snug' is snug, but the bed is comfortable and the sound of lake water is very soothing. We had a little fire in the fire pit on a cool late summer evening that was a perfect end to the day.
Alison was a great host! She was very flexible on our late arrival and made us feel at home right away. The Snug is just that - a cozy space perfect for a good night's rest. We enjoyed the outdoor space and canoes as well. Alison's got great decorating taste and she and Roger provided excellent conversation at breakfast. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a tranquil retreat!
Very nice when we pulled into the driveway and there was a sign saying "Welcome Brian and Kiera". Immediately felt welcome and was followed by a friendly tour of the place with some quick information on Vernon and surrounding area that we were wondering about. Beautiful location right on the water in a cozy separate guest house. Loved it!
Allison and Her husband were great guests, easy to communicate with, clean and friendly.
It will be great to have them back soon!

Erendira, Casa Eréndira.
Alex was a second time guest and was very good like the first time.
One of the benefits of being an airbnb host is that the most wonderful people come and stay with me. Such were Alison and Roger. Friendly, interesting, talented and warm, they were marvelous guests. They were thoroughly comfortable in Oaxaca, communicated perfectly in Spanish, were great company over coffee and had marvelous tales to tell. They were kind to the pets and treated the house as respectfully as if it were their own. I recommend them unequivocally to any host anywhere in the world.
Allison and friend were friendly. They were very clean and tidy and quiet as well. Did a good job making up the bed. Good quests.

Alison and Roger are nice guests. Autonomous, organised, neat, respectful and fully recommendable, we enjoyed having them stay in our home. They were the perfect guests and left the place spotless. Really hope we can meet again one day to share more stories of our collective travel experiences.
Allison photography books are amazing I could see Ajijic thru those books, thank you Alison for helping the people in need in Mexico. An please keep dancing.
