I stayed in Julie's apartment for three months while working in Portland. The apartment was very nice and equipped with everything I needed (washing machine, laundry dryer, cooking equipment). I also greatly enjoyed the neighborhood with its nice parks, restaurants, coffee shops and grocery stores. Also, there is a bus stop (Bus 15, which takes you to downtown Portland within 10 to 15 minutes) right in front of the house -- which is ideal if you don't have a car. Whenever I wrote an e-mail to Julie, she responded very fast. If I come to Portland again for several months, I would definitely stay in this apartment again.
Julie's condo is perfect for one person staying in Portland for a month or so. The kitchen is serviceable enough to cook, and the neighborhood has a lot to offer in terms of food and nightlife. The brunch at Accanto directly across the street is a must-try! Julie was very responsive and always answered questions within a few hours. She was also very helpful in accommodating my late night arrival.
Julie was a pleasure to work with, she met us at the property to show us around and told us briefly about the neighborhood, and if we had any questions to contact her. The apartment was very clean and comfortable, we spent most of our time walking around the neighborhood. The neighborhood is amazing, great for shops, food and just walking, parking was never an issue. Great place to stay. Thank you Julie.
Julie was very flexible in setting up a time to pick up the key. The apartment was clean, quaint, and truly in the heart of the fun Hawthorne & Belmont neighborhoods. We felt at home and would definitely stay here again. It was just steps from the Bus #15 which took us easily to Forest Park, downtown, and the train station.
We were so lucky to have found Julie's condo at the last minute, and it was perfect for us! The space is great- bigger than expected, comfy bed, nice shower and bathtub, large closet with the washer and dryer was a nice plus!
The kitchen had everything we needed for the time we were there. Small fridge was no problem at all.
The location is ideal for exploring southeast Belmont/ Hawthorne/28th avenues. Anything you may need is within walking distance, including a great yoga studio and beautiful laurelhurst park!
The apartment is just beaming with cuteness, which reflects the hosts friendly personality as well. :) Julie was great to work with! Thank you so much!
Response from Julie:
thanks, Ashley! :)
Julie's place was an ideal place to stay while looking for a home in Portland. The apartment itself is nicely sized, clean, and well-stocked. The location is just as awesome, with everything you could need within walking distance.
Julie & Bob were accommodating and easy to communicate with.
Great self-contained apartment in an even better location. Ideal spot for those new to the city, eager to explore what SE Portland has to offer. A stop for the 15 both westbound and eastbound right outside made it easy to get around. Walking distance from Zupans and Safeway, as well as a selection of top bars and restaurants. Would definitely return.
Really nice apartment, in a very convenient location. Julie and Bob are very attentive hosts. I really enjoyed my stay here. Thank you!
a very comfortable and spacious apartment. I loved staying here and would again if I'm ever in portland. The location was nice and I walked to Zupan's market and saint cupcake on the weekends. Bus #15 stopped right across the street. It was perfect.
The apartment is beautiful and very well situated in the South East. Lots of cafes and bars within walking distance. The place itself is newly renovated, amenities are well thought out, the furniture and style of the place is charming. Some noise from the bar across the street, but nothing too raucous. Julie is responsive and timely about addressing any issues that come up.
Julie is lovely! I had the pleasure of spending time her during my spur of the moment visit to Portland. She gave a list of places to visit including lots of wonderful vintage shops, a beautiful rose garden and the greatest Portland restaurants. Julie's charismatic personality makes her become friends with anyone who meets her!
The condo itself is very charming. The neighborhood feels safe and public transportation is easily accessible! I will be recommending this place to anyone visiting Portland. I cannot wait to go back!
I have stayed at Julie's condo twice, each time for a week. It has to be my favorite place to stay when I travel. The place is beautifully decorated and very comfy. It's very well maintained and always clean and tidy. The location is great, there are several places to eat and drink in the neighborhood, as well as a well stocked market (similar to whole foods) all within walking distance. If you want to venture into the city center, it's just a quick drive away, and easy to get to. Julie is a fantastic host, always willing to recommend places to eat, and things to do, she's a Portlandia expert for sure. I have to say she is very accommodating as well, both times I've visited, I have arrived very late (after 11 pm) and she was there waiting for me (once in the freezing rain) and with a smile on her face. I could go on and on about how much I love the place, but I'll just say there is no place I plan on staying while in Portland other than this one.
Julie is a wonderful friend! We bonded over a mutual love of vintage sewing patterns and antique shopping, but have had many other great conversations and experiences along the way. She was kind enough to let me sublet her beautiful studio apartment and I loved every minute of it. Her studio is spacious, saturated by natural light, comfortable and just perfect for anyone wanting a great spot in Portland. The apartment has an adorable kitchen with great details like vintage dishware and is fully stocked with cooking utensils, pots, pans, etc. The bathroom is lovely; I enjoyed the amazing water pressure and extra tall shower head. I even indulged in a few baths during my stay. The building is quiet and the neighbors are very respectful. Also, the location is awesome: it's only a few blocks from some of the best bars (my favorite: The Sweet Hereafter), restaurants (Mai Thai!), and on a very convenient bus line that can get you just about anywhere. I can't say enough good things about this spot--I truly never wanted to leave! Thanks, Julie, for being so rad!
We have rented from Julie for the last couple of months, and she has been a pleasure to work with. There have been no problems, but I felt if there were, they would be immediately resolved. The condo is charming and in a fabulous part of town. Easy walk to everything we need. The neighborhood is wonderful, as are the neighbors in the building.
