My husband and I stayed with Tom and Towa during Songkran f(Thai New Year). They were excellent hosts, and even took some time from their busy weekend to show us around the city. The room is great; clean, huge, and private.
We found the location to be convenient to all the sites and a really nice slice of Bangkok that we wouldnt have experienced otherwise. We actually walked to the BTS a few times (it takes about 40 min) but its easy and fast to catch a moto taxi. All in all, a very nice experience.
Des hôtes super sympas, une chambre très grande et propre dans un quartier calme mais typique de Bangkok (habité par des thaïs et non des bagpackers), le BTS pas loin... Bref un super logement dans Bangkok pour découvrir et vivre la ville
Towa and Tom were great hosts, very friendly and laid back. Their house is really nice and the room is very spacious and well equipt. It is nice to be outside of the city centre a bit but it is so easy and convenient to get right in to town on the BTS. It's 20 baht for a motor cycle taxi from their street to Udom Suk BTS, or around 50 baht for a metered cab.
Towa and Tom gave me loads of tips for exploring Bangkok, and invited me along to various things that they were doing, but also respected my space and privacy.
They were perfect hosts and their dogs are very cute and friendly.
As a single female traveller I felt very safe in their house and in their part of town. There are plenty of places to eat nearby if you don't want to go in to the city or to cook.

We've spent only one night in this lovely house, but we have a lot of good emotions about it. Towa and Tom are very hospitality!!!!. We had a big and difficult trip from Cambodia to Bangkok and they brought us alive) Towa and Tom ordered for us a tasty and NO spicy Thai dinner, we had a cold bear, warm air... We were seating at the beautifull terrace and talking about international mentalities...)) if u would like to live not far from airport and not far from the main sights - it is the perfect place.
For sure u will in love with their friendly dogs...)
We stayed there for 3 nights and enjoyed very much the neighborhood.
We went with the guys to some really nice local restaurants with the most amazing food we tried all over bangkok! Room and location is as described. We had a nice time staying there. Towa and Tom were great hosts.
I stayed with Tom & Towa for two nights and had a great time. The guys are friendly, hospitable and very knowledgable about Bangkok since they've lived here for almost a year.
The room is huge and includes a rather large bed, (think it was King size & thai style which means no top sheet/blankets as you don't need due to weather although there's a light throw over if you get cold, I only used the fan at night) sitting area, desk and lots of storage space. The room is complete with either aircon or fan to make it a very relaxing stay. If you want privacy and to keep to yourself the room is bigger than most people's lounge space.
Location wise, the house is not in downtown but in the real 'suburban' Bangkok. It is super easy to get to because of the Skytrain (BTS Udom Suk station). When you get to the stop a 10 minute motorcycle taxi ride (25 Baht) takes you directly to the house. (you cannot walk & the motorcycle is an adventure and experience in itself). Even with the motorcycle trip I could be in most downtown shopping centres in about 30 minutes thanks to the very efficient BTS which runs every few minutes from very early until about midnight.
The house is a stand alone house that is two story and in a very quiet area. 24 hour Tesco express is only a 5 minute walk away and it's very easy to get a motorcycle taxi back to the BTS.
If you were staying a few nights or more and wanted some space (compared to a hostel) this is a great space. However it may be too far for a one night stay and probably not ideal if you don't take motorcycle taxis.
Overall I'm glad I met Tom & Towa and stayed at their house.
Towa and Tom live in a lovely and spacious house in an area of Bangkok that is not touristy but at the same time is vibrant and quite happening in its own right. If you want a taste of the real local Bangkok then this would definitely make for a unique experience. Towa and Tom are also very well-travelled and cultured people so they have really made an effort to know Thailand, its culture and language very well. They will surely be able to give good recommendations on good local restaurants and interesting places that the city has to offer.
Towa is one of my daughter's best friends. As my daughter has impeccable perception in her selection of dear friends, consequently, I embrace and receive her friends as mine. He embraced and enhanced my daughter's life while she was a young American Expat in Brussels with his kindness, humor and generosity and remains to this day a loyal and open-hearted friend. He is welcomed in my home and life, always.
Towa est un superb ami, et j'adore la maison Franco-Belges puisque je passe la plupart de mes vendredi sur la terrasse avec Towa et Tom.
Towa (from France) and his boyfriend Tom (from Belgium) are great hosts. They live and work in Bangkok, so they know the best places to go out for dinner or drinks; they can also help you plan and arrange trips.
They are very helpful and willing to let you use the fridge, share the bathroom, etc. Both speak English, French, Dutch and some Thai.
I stayed in the room they are offering: it is spacious, there's a double bed AND there is airconditioning, which you will definitely need.
If you don't like dogs, you should think twice before heading here, because two cute ones are also living here in the small garden (they do not come into the house).
