This villa suited our needs almost perfectly. We were a large family group of 7 adults and 3 children. The house had 3 king bedrooms made available to us ( although there there was a fourth locked). 2 had en suites... 1 huge 1 small. There was a third huge bathroom. The large lounge space with its surround sound TV/DVD system was great for recovery times. We used the daybed for the extra adult. and outdoor lounges for the children. Dana kindly agreed to these arrangements. The pool and outdoor eating areas were in constant use.
Wayan our maid came 6 days a week.. as well as being lovely she was a great help with local knowledge. Together with the gardener and the pool man we had worry free days.
This accomodation has no wifi. Needs transport to get around..we used taxi motos and hire cars. Linen needs review and upstairs does have steep stairs not suiting small kids or elderly. A bit down at heel and not 5 star glamorous but if you're looking for convenient, value for money,in a real balinese area (rice fields around the corner) this is great. Locals are very friendly .Local restaurants and massage centres abound and are great.
It is hard to find and it was good we pre arranged airport pick up with Dana who welcomed us on arrival and showed us the house.
The villa is called Monkeys and is actually better than the photos . I would recommend this as long as you are aware of its limitations. All staff involved were very kind, friendly, helpful and honest, We felt very safe here! The Clark family from Australia
The villa was a mix of good and bad for us. The good was the people - Dana was very helpful from the start, and the cleaning lady was fantastic - very resourceful and made our stay much better than we expected.
The bad was certain aspects of the villa, particularly the bathrooms. Each one had different problems - either the WC was wobbly, or the shower fittings were in poor condition. The shower head in the bathroom upstairs fell out while I was bathing, and missed my head by a few inches! We had power failure twice on the first night, and needed Dana's help on the phone to sort it out. The windows don't open, so it's airconditioning all the time, and there was precisely 1 blanket to be shared between the three rooms. The stairs leading up have to be the scariest I have seen in a modern construction.
On the service experience front, I was surprised to see no supply of any toiletries or even toilet paper or basic groceries like sugar, something that is a given in many villas. Which would not have been so bad if we had been aware to bring everything including hand wash, then we would have been prepared. As it is, the villa is at least 15 minutes away from the nearest convenience store, and not easy to figure out unless you have a local mobile phone. Also, the villa has no wifi; I made the mistake of assuming that there would be, as almost every other place has wifi.
After the second day, we got used to all the pitfalls, and didn't mind it so much. Dana also helped me with the numbers of people for renting cars and bikes, but beware that they don't always speak or understand English, and I had to test my Bahasa Indonesia skills continuously. I should say, we love Bali, but were glad to leave the villa!
Guest just stayed for a day n then checked out saying she didn't like the place
