Suzanne was a generous and attentive hostess. She went above and beyond the call, picking me up at the train station, and with a generous breakfast. The place is full of curiosities, old books, and right by the beach. I would stay there again
Suzanne has a nice, secluded house on the top of a hill on a small street in Westport. She was welcoming and friendly and offered to buy me food for breakfast in the morning. Unfortunately I didn't have much time, so I wasn't able to hang around for long but Suzanne was chatty nonetheless. The house is pretty big and you have plenty of room to move around.
Suzanne made me feel very welcome the first night with a nice dinner and chat. A delightful, helpful and passionate person, she also took me around town to show me the important parts of Westport. Unfortunately, personal circumstances dictated that I had to check out much earlier than anticipated. Suzanne was very kind in offering me to come back as my initial reservation was for the long-term.
The bed was very comfortable and the room was excellent, albeit a bit cold the first night while Suzanne turned on the heat.
The home itself is beautiful although I did not get a chance to explore too much. Were my personal circumstances not what they were, I would have been happy to stay the duration of the reservation.
Suzanne welcomes you warmly to her historic colonial style home, usually with a cup of coffee/tea and a chat. She's a very personable host and extremely helpful and knowledgeable about both the area and NYC.
The property itself is located on the only hill of note in the area, set in a couple of acres (that you're free to explore) with wonderful views - it is worth being up to watch the sunrise from here.
The room is large, a little dated by modern standards but suits the property; the rest of the house is stock full of interesting books and art works that Suzanne has collected; I spent a couple of evenings just looking through all this alone.
Nearby (walking distance - within a mile) there are a couple of bars (Splash & Black Duck) a Greek deli and an Italian resteraunt, oh and Westport rail station and the Compo beach.
The neighborhood around Suzanne's home is bucolic and, yet, sophisticated. The front windows overlook Long Island Sound as the home sits on a hill within 1000 feet of the beach and the paintings in the rooms are a delight. Suzanne is proactive at accommodating requests for foods at the home and times of arrival. I was super late unfortunately and she insisted on picking me up at the train station after a long cross-country trip via JFK and metro north to Westport.
Thank you again for visiting and your kind comments. I hope to have the pleasure of seeing you again. Your friend was so attractive I almost wished I was attending grade school. A bientot!
Suzzane is a hostess at heart. Made us feel welcome, prepared breakfast, shared tips and we were soon chatting as though we were old friends... The area is stunning and highly recommended for exploring and walking around!
Thank you Keren! So kind! Do hope we meet again! Bon voyage!
My mother-in-law and her sister stayed here for 4 days in September. Suzanne is an exceptional host. She went out of her way to accommodate her guests.
She made them breakfast (and even an unexpected feast for Jewish New Year), showed them around Westport and made them feel welcome.
The description of the room was accurate. The view was amazing.
Would definitely stay again or recommend to friends/relatives.
Suzanne won me over in an instant! She is the warmest, kindest host who will go above and beyond to make sure you're comfortable! The house has so much charm and sits upon a hill overlooking Compo Beach - just a short walk to the shore. Makes for a stellar morning walk! More than I enjoyed the place, I am grateful to have met Suzanne. Her generosity and sincerity made me feel right at home. I left feeling like I had stayed with a really close friend. Highly recommended host!
I was unable to complete my trip -- Suzanne was wonderfully accommodating and super easy to deal with. She had even gone out to buy groceries for me !
Book with confidence with a great host.
My boyfriend and I were lucky to be hosted by Suzanne over Labor Day wkd. She was beyond accommodating in every way. She showed us around town and picked us up at the train station. She had delicious food for us for breakfast and dinner, and was a great tour guide. The view from the room was unbelievable, as the house is on a hill giving you a beautiful view of the water from above.
We had a great time, and will definitely be back to again!
