The room was very quaint and just a short walk to the downtown area. The "entire home/apt" classification is a bit misleading - it was essentially just a room with no kitchen (though there was a microwave and coffee machine). Our biggest complaints would be that the wifi did not reach us most of the time, and the bathroom door was broken (and not really much of a door to begin with...) For the price, it was great, though. We really enjoyed our stay overall.
We had a very nice stay at the Seaside Nook. A pretty close walk to downtown, and very close to Victoria's iconic pier. Marie, Michael's mother, welcomed us and it was very easy to check in and out as she is right next door. Neither my boyfriend or I could get the internet to work on our phones or iPad, which wasn't too much a problem for us but something to keep in mind if you need to depend on it. The "kitchen" was stocked with tea, coffee, a coffee maker, toaster and fridge which we really appreciated during our two night stay!
Overall, a very worthwhile stay. We would stay here again!
No contact with host. Had to request key from upstairs neighbour.
The upstairs neighbour is actually my mother Marie, who usually greets the guests, provides them with the key and information about the nook. Hope you enjoyed your stay in Victoria, Mark.
I didn't actually meet Michael in person, but he was very attentive and prompt in his response prior to arriving. The apartment is perfect for our 3 night stay in Victoria. Plenty of space for two people, the bed was fine and the shower was great! Coffee maker and toaster were also really handy. The location is the best thing about this place, so close to Fishermans Wharf, the Breakwater and not far from downtown - its also super good value considering you get the place to yourself. If your doing the tourist thing for a couple of days in Victoria this place is really ideal.
The stay was comfortable, good for a few days. Located in a great neighbourhood not far from downtown and close to the ocean!
Convenient location and very nice chalet. It was very private and well stocked with just what we needed. Keeping Michael's place in mind for future visits. If you're only in town for a few days and want a nice place to rest your head, this is definitely it!
Lovely apartment, very clean and comfortable. Received a friendly and warm welcome from Michael's mum who lives upstairs. Great location, just a 10 minute walk to the harbour. Beautiful city. Thank you Michael :)
Thank you Michael for your hospitality. We were very comfortable and enjoyed our stay.
Thanks Laura. I'm happy that your dad was comfortable in the "futon/ hideabed."
Unfortunately, we didn't get the chance to meet Michael but our host was very good in keeping us posted with things we needed to know about the place etc. Everything was there as mentioned when we arrived. The neighbourhood was quite and we had everything we needed in our two nights stay at Michael's place. The place was walking distance to the city, museum, and Victoria Clipper port. Thank you, Michael!
Great place to stay and awesome location. Instructions for staying were super clear and easy to follow. There's unfortunately no hot plate in the kitchenette, and the wifi signal was very weak; most of the time I ended up using my phone provider's data connection. Bathroom was very clean but the bed is quite soft.
Michael and his family were great people, and great guests. They stayed during a month, so they had time to deeply discover Nerja and to enjoy the nice weather for this season! Without any doubt, I would host them again! =)
I havent met Michael and his family cause they were a bit late but they were respectfull of the property and everything went realy good. We had a great comunication and i would love to have them again.
Michael and his family are great people, cool family. They were kind and inquisitive and we even went to eat ćevapi one night. :)
Michael and his family are great.
After them you are happy to be engaged in this job.
Michael and Yuke were really nice people and the first airbnb guests I got to know, a great pleasure hosting them and apartment left in perfect condition. I would definately recomend for other hosts!
John was a great young man , I was very surprised by his life experience.. good job Michael
Thanks Ali. We've tried hard to make travel and exploration the focal point of our lives. Hope to see you in Oman later this year. Michael
What a joy it’s been hosting Michael, Yuki and Tiger for this past month. I’ve had some wonderful AirBnB guests in the past and didn’t think it could get any better; but this trio proved me wrong. Some of the words that come to mind in describing them are warm, intelligent, personable, outgoing, fun-loving, adventurous, generous, considerate — I could go on but might need a thesaurus. Although I was definitely sorry to see them go, I feel like my husband and I have made some lifelong friends. We hope to visit them in Canada one day and look forward to their possible stay here again next year. And I must mention their remarkable and adorable son Tiger (yes, that’s his real name). Here’s a lively, outgoing and engaging youngster who is smart beyond his six years, funny, talkative, prone to stream- of- consciousness monologues that take you on an amazing ride — a challenge to keep up with but worth the effort. Tiger loves to read, will teach you Japanese, explain the American Civil War to you, tell you all you’ve ever wanted to know about robots and Japanese cartoon characters, among other subjects, and will walk you dog should you have one. But what’s also special about him is that he is very polite, well-behaved, and considerate. ”Yes. please” and “thank you” come easily to him and just a few days ago he once again told me how much he had appreciated and enjoyed the bowl of fruit I had put in their kitchen when they first arrived. Michael, Yuki and Tiger fit right into our neighborhood and every day they were out riding their bicycles and taking full advantage of all the activities here in San Diego. Their energy and spirit was inspiring. Do I need to say that you will be very lucky to host this Canadian family?
Michael and his son John were great houseguests. I was gone on vacation during their stay but my house-sitter Rich enjoyed hosting them, and we'd be happy to have them again any time!
Michael & his son left my space clean and in good order. I recommend them to all of Airbnb.
Michael and John are delightful! I spent time talking to them about their travels and introducing them to my family and friends. Michael shared his around-the-world website resources with me and both Father and son are respectful, quiet and friendly. You can't go wrong having them as visitors!
