Louise has a great one bedroom suite in a convenient location (close to Grand Central and to lots of restaurants).
The suite itself is well stocked (especially the kitchen) and is exactly as seen in the pictures.
The shower is amazing. Amenities were great (strong Wifi throughout, washer & dryer was easy to use, and the private backyard patio was nice for fresh air).
A huge plus was being on the first floor, and not having to stumble with stairs and luggage.
We had a wonderful time at Louise's apartment, and are so glad we were able to stay there. It really made our trip!
We had travelled a very long way so it was lovely to arrive at a place that felt just like our own home. We were able to relax right away.
Louise met us when we arrived and made us feel very welcome. She was able to promptly help us with any problem and was very easy to contact.
The apartment is in a very safe area, and everything you need is close by. Louise's apartment is quite large by New York standards, and has a lot of lovely features - a full size kitchen, large lounge room, large dining table. wifi, washing machine and dryer, and a beautiful king size bed which is very comfortable. It is great that it is on the ground floor, and you can walk outside to the garden - so you feel like you have a lot more space.
It is in an old interesting building, and you can tell that it must have a fascinating history, particularly the paved garden with the old fishpond.
We were able to walk to the Empire State Building in about 10 minutes and Broadway in about 25 minutes. The Morgan Library is about 5 minutes away - and the supermarket is only about half a minute!
We had a great time here. If we are lucky enough to come back again we would definitely want to stay here again.
Thank you Louise!
We were lucky enough to have found this fantastic apartment in the heart of Manhattan for our stay in October 2013.Everything about it was absolutely amazing - Louise was a wonderful and thoughtful host. She was very flexible with our check in time to accommodate a flight delay on arrival and our departure time.
She really made us feel at home by taking time to tell us about the neighbourhood and even left some fresh fruit and drinks for us.
We couldn't have wished for more from an apartment - it was wonderfully homely with some much appreciated treats - the steam shower was amazing! Everything we needed was provided and the standard of décor and cleanliness was great.
Our favourite thing about the apartment was the private garden - a rare gem in the heart of the city.
The location couldn't be better - within walking distance of just about everything - Empire State Building, Bryant Park, Central Park and Times Square, not to mention Macy's and Bloomingdales. There are lots of lovely bars, restaurants and shops in the locality of the apartment.
We'd hate to stay anywhere else now.

We had a wonderful time in NYC! Staying at Louise's apartment was the perfect location and spacious at a great price. I recommend the apartment and would love to stay again! Thanks Louise!
Loved this place! Super convenient location, really felt at home and at peace. Neighbourhood was perfect, very safe and really close to everything.
I recommend to anyone who likes a quiet place and a feeling of being at home when away from home.
Lets start with the Pros. Louise's apartment is central; the kitchen & bathroom were clean. There was also a lot of stuff left in the fridge by previous visitors that Louise allows you to use. You get more space & privacy than in a good hotel where you will be paying the equivalent rate.
Now for the cons...The house is cluttered with junk and needs a thorough and ruthless spring cleaning. The curtains & upholstery urgently need to be changed or at the very least dry-cleaned. The backyard (euphemistically referred to as a garden) is nothing but an untended yard that would be inviting with some good weeding out and a generous coat of paint. The garden seats' upholstery was as filthy as the ashtray left out there. The bath tub had numerous half used bottles of shower gel and shampoo that should have been discarded. Considering the rates being charged , Louise should definitely invest in new bath towels.
Lastly, we were there during the recent July heat wave and there is no a.c. in the bedroom. Which would still have been alright if the bedroom fan worked without the lights attached to it. As it is, even after notifying our host about the problem, we had to sleep 2 nights with the lights blazing, until (mercifully) they fused themselves out.
There are a lot of platitudes tacked all over the apartment. How about one that says "A Little More Care Goes A Long Way" Louise ? It would be a good practice too ...
Wonderful stay - Louise was a great host, providing supplies and a great basket of fresh fruit for our stay. Communication was excellent and the location is perfect - walking distance to Empire State and Grand Central. Plenty of places to eat nearby and close to a subway stop. Could not have asked for a nicer place to stay while in NYC.
