hi, I am Alex and I will be your host whilst you stay with us in Canterbury. I am currently studying for my Masters degree at London university. I look forward to meeting you very soon!

The flat is in the old servants’ quarters of the house, which gives it some original quirkiness. For the three of us it worked really well with plenty of space. The family were really helpful in sorting things out and made the trip possible by agreeing to have an unusual object on the premises while we stayed. The flat is well placed to walk into the town or to go elsewhere (we recommend walking to Whitstable with fish and chips on the beach). With two children it might have been less easy as one of the beds is in an alcove off of the main sitting area.
Everything was as expected : a very nice place in a very nice city.
We were here for work, so we couldn't enjoy the place and the area as much as we'd have liked, and didn't have much time to interact with Alex and her family.
However, we were warmly welcomed, Alex is a very very nice person.
a DELICIOUS chocolate cake was even waiting for us at our arrival, among other nice things in the fridge.
thank you very much !
Lovely flat and garden and nice hosts. Would recommend.
Alex and her family were extremely welcoming and took great care of our production team in town for the Canterbury Festival. They even came out to the show on a rainy awful night! The flat is very comfortable and spacious. We were very happy indeed with our stay.
Alex and her family go out of their way to make their guests feel at home. We found welcome cupcakes, milk and bread in the fridge, a selection of cereals, coffee, tea, and even yoghurt - wow! We didn't come to Canterbury to stay in, but there's a huge selection of good books to read in the flat, too. The house is a short walk (10 min.) from the Westgate and the old city and 15-20 min to the university buildings; very convenient for most any reason you'd visit Canterbury!
Alex gave us great instructions for our arrival, and stayed in touch with us when we arrived late because of traffic. She was flexible and really accommodating.
The flat was tidy and comfortable, and was well stocked with food essentials.
When I asked for extra amenities they were provided.
Alex and her mother were wonderful hosts, they were extremely helpful and friendly. The cupcakes were also lovely! The place was very beautiful and spacious, to be honoust, much better than we expected it to be (which is very good, of course). Perfect for a family with a kid. Its location was also very good: right between the centre and the university. Thanks!
Our five day stay with Alex and her family in Canterbury was excellent. Their home is a short walk from the center of town and even a shorter walk to the University of Kent. Alex's mother was kind enough to drive my wife daughter and I to the university the day of my daughter moved into her dorm room. She even waited with all the stuff in the car until my daughter's paper work was done. I highly recommend staying with Alex and her family and I'll be sure on our next visit to stay there again. I give them A++++++++ rating.
Alex and family were very inviting, the flat was as described and 10 minutes walk direct into Canterbury. There was a little noise from the house above but we'd arrived later than planned so the dogs were home. I was told this wouldn't have been the case if we'd been on the days we'd originally booked. Alex and family really inviting and even found us a bottle of wine, the cupcakes were also a pleasure to sample on arrival. Thanks for hosting us during our stay in Canterbury.
Alex was very nice and the cupcakes were wonderful. Unfortunately the flat is in the basement, so you hear every step from above.
When someone came home at 4 o'clock in the Morning and threw down the keys, we were all full awake. We couln't go back to sleep, because the two gentlemen were chatting for another 45 minutes and then someone got up at 7 in the Morning and our night was over.
Sorry to say that, because the family is nice and the flat is close to the city, but it is a bit dark and for only half a nights sleep just too expensive.
It was a pleasure hosting Chris, Alex's brother. Chris and Alex are always welcome in my home and I recommend them very highly to all other airbnb hosts!
Alex and co are friendly, polite and respectful, and although we didn't get to meet them personally due to a 60th birthday elsewhere, we have nothing but good vibes for alex and friends. they are always welcome.
Alex is a very Nice guest, respectfull of the place.
It was lovely to host Alex, a pleasure to have at Witherdens Hall with us.
