The home is spacious, in a great neighborhood, and Sandy was very responsive and accommodating. Also loved the hot tub. Overall, a good experience.
Here are some things that I wish could be improved: Would be nice if the owner provided wood for the fireplace, pellet for the master bedroom (probably the coldest room in the home) and hand soap for the washrooms. I knew these weren't provided coming in but they're minor things that would make one feel more welcomed. Two things that bothered me about the place is the old carpet and old couch (upstairs). We mostly stayed in the upstair couch because it is the warmest room but the couch was pretty beat up with patches. Those things make me uncomfortable about staying in another person's home. Probably not a big deal for most but thought I'd share so that you have a better idea about the place.
Great house. A short drive to Tahoe City or Squaw/Alpine Meadows. Enjoyed the hot tub. Very comfortable stay. Thanks!
My host Sandy was a pleasure to work with. The home was the right size for our family and easily accessible to Squaw and Northstar for skiing. Also, it was within a short distance to restaurants. It has a nice cabin charm. I would recommend this house highly.
Sandys home was really nice and just as described! Very centrally located. Fully equipped kitchen. She was always very responsive by email or phone if we had questions.
Sandy's house was amazing! Pictures and description were spot on. Location great. Neighborhood quiet. Would definitely stay here again! Thanks for letting us stay!
The house was beautiful and in a great neighborhood AND there were plenty of beds. Normally hosts say "Sleeps 12" and really there are pull-outs and couches, but in this case, this house actually sleeps 12! The only issue we had was a black bear and her cubs broke into the house the morning we were supposed to check-in. Some of our group showed up to the house and discovered the door broken in. The bears left the house and my friends called the Bear League and then the landlord sent a handyman to repair/board up the door. I'd definitely stay here again, loved the house!
Glad you loved our house. So sorry about the uninvited guest Ally (smile). You ladies were awesome guests.
We all loved this house! It was roomy with beautiful patios and everything we needed. The location was great as it was just 10 minutes from Tahoe City. The hostess was so responsive and just very helpful overall. We'd come back in a heartbeat!
Thank you Christi,
You group was great.
Was a beautiful home that easily fit our group - tons and tons of sleeping space and plenty of communal space for lounging inside + the decks were pretty spot on.
Sandy's house was great. It fit our group of 12 comfortably and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location of the house is great, 15 mins to the ski slopes at Squaw valley. The neighborhood is quiet. There is a trail hear 2 blocks away and we enjoyed a 4 mile hike through the woods. Hot water was not a problem, we staggered showers and everyone got a hot shower. The only issue was that the bottom half of the house, living room and bedrooms get rather cold because there is not central heat in every bedroom. Make sure you carry some firewood and/or pellets for the master bedroom heater and you will be fine. Sandy was responsive to our texts and her suggestions were great. We would definitely go back!
We had a great time at Sandy's place in Tahoe! It fit our large group comfortably and was in a perfect location for skiing at Squaw/Alpine. The kitchen is cozy but had everything you could need. The skiiers especially enjoyed the chance to relax in the hot tub at the end of the day!
