DO NOT stay here, poor service, communication, and no concern for their guests satisfaction.
When attempting to communicate with Tshela prior to our stay I received responses only a week prior to the visit about early check in and and late check out. She was accommodating to those requests and directed me to her manager Lawrence for further communications. I sent him a message the day prior to arrival on his phone and he returned my call at 11pm, waking myself and my children. When arriving at the station meeting point, I phoned him to let him know we were there. He was kind and came to meet us and escorted my family to the apartment and even pulled the luggage. He showed us around the apartment and the complimentary food in the refrigerator.
When he attempted to show us the TV he was unable to change the channel and after travelling with an infant and toddler I thought maybe he was not as familiar with the TV and it would be no problem for myself to change it, however we couldn't change it all weekend.
I did not like the very steep stairs that was unsafe for my family, however again we weren't there most of the day. Also, I did not like seeing the owners personal bath items still in the bathtub area or the bank on the floor in the bedroom that my daughter wanted to play with. Major drawback would be the toilet is in a closet on the main level and sink and bathtub are on the upper level. And at 5ft myself I couldn't stand upright in the shower and knees touched the wall while on the toilet.
On the day before our departure we spoke with Lawrence about the exact check out time asked me to check for a message from Tshela and upon receiving the message at 10:45pm, it stated that there would be an annual water meter reading in the unit the next morning from 08:30-09:30am. I called Lawrence to explain that it would not be alright for this during out last morning and with the children was unacceptable to be notified that late in the evening or even during our stay. He explained to me that she would have to pay a fine if the men were unable to do the reading. The next morning they arrived with Lawrence at the apartment and when we were sleeping and did not open, Lawrence let himself and two strange men into the apartment to do a meter reading. After telling Lawrence they were not allowed upstairs with people sleeping the men entered each bedroom with sleeping women and children without knocking and even used the beds we were still in to set tools down and work on the radiators. When contacting Tshela about this major inconvenience and invasion of privacy she did not respond.
I would NOT recommend this unit to anyone, unless you only want wifi and a decent bed.
Tshela was a fantastic host! I met here at the apartment when I first arrived, when she showed me the place and gave me some information on the apartment. The apartment is fully stocked with towels, linens, pillows, coffee, tea, plates, etc. She even left juice, bread, milk and water in the fridge! She gave us amazing instructions to the entire city including places to eat and pharmacies etc. The place is spacious, the bedrooms are comfortable and the apartment is homey. The only complaint is that the shower is a little hard to work and the toilet is separate from the shower and is downstairs.
This place is very spacious, with good connections to the center of Brussles. Lawrence was very friendly. They even left us a few supplies in the kitchen which were very welcome! I highly recommend.
Tshela's apartment is absolutely lovely. We were welcomed by Lawrence at the metro station who led us to the apartment (he kindly even carried our bags) which is only a short two or three minute walk away.
Lawrence gave us a tour, a huge lovely dining/living room (with the comfiest leather sofa in the world!), a sweet kitchen with all the appliances and condiments you would ever need, a toilet separate to the bathroom, and up a set of very steep stairs (I think that they just have steep stairs everywhere in Brussels) two spacious bedrooms with even more spacious comfy beds. The bathroom is also a decent size, our only issue was that the shower is not hooked up so you kind of have to hold it over yourself, but it wasn't much of a bother. There's also every kind of bathroom appliance you'd need including a brilliant hairdryer. There's ample wardrobe space, many plug sockets, a huge tv with loads of channels, a bookshelf stacked with books, a baby's cot in one of the rooms, and about a million Marie Claire magazines!!
The apartment was always warm which was lovely when we came in from a freezing cold day exploring the city. Plus there's free wifi!! There's two supermarkets close to the apartment, a few cafes, a Godiva outlet (!) and a lovely huge church with a surrounding park that you can see from the dining room and bedroom windows.
Our stay here was nothing short of absolutely brilliant and I will recommend Tshela's apartment to anyone and everyone I know who is visiting Brussels.
Thank you very much for having us!!
Great host and great apartment. Wunderful living and dining room. Thank you!
L'appartement de Tshela est très agréable, bien équipé, nos petits déjeuners avaient même été prévus ce qui est très agréables. Tout s'est donc parfaitement passé.
This airbnb was great! The apartment was very clean and had plenty of room for 4 people. Lawrence was extremely welcoming, helpful, and always responsive. It's only 3 metro stops away from downtown which makes it very easy to get into the city. I would definitely recommend this airbnb to anyone!
bon accueil de Lawrence . ( horaires adaptés à notre voyage)
appartement correspondant à la description : bien placé , confortable et bien équipé.
Séjour très agréable: à conseiller
We had an excellent time in Tshela's flat. The apartment is huge and in a great position. The house information is very clearly written out in her welcome booklet and checking in and out was really efficient with Lawrence. The beds are VERY comfortable (memory foam!) and all kitchen and bathroom facilities are great. We'll definitely stay here again when we return to Brussels.
Hi Melissa, I'm not sure you noticed but Lawrence was included in cc in the Guest info doc communication I sent you via email. Cheers Tshela
We had a very nice time in this apart! It's very big, clean, good located and very well equipped. Thanks a lot to Tshela and Lawrence for their hospitality and help. Hope to meet you again in Brussels!
Tschela was a very clean and tidy guest, a lovely person to meet and get to know, left my flat in immaculate condition and i hope she comes back!
Very demanding and ungrateful guest - be prepared to have to guide them throughout their stay.
