I've hosted a number of times now w/ Airbnb, and turns out, I love it! It's been so much fun, and my guests have been great. I am a positive person, and look at life that way. Even still, I had been a hesitant about the rental process. After doing it, though, I'm glad I did and look forward to more opportunities to rent.
Beyond Airbnb, I'm a person who has recently moved to Washington, DC, and I love it, too. It's a great city with lots to offer, but also feels small enough to feel right at home in. Spring is particularly nice, and looks like we're actually getting one this year (rather than going right into summer). It's lovely here and SO much to do. It's perfect for me. I'm a person who likes to do a lot of things - work, play, travel, friends, etc.
DC is also great because of being so close to NYC and Europe. I've been to Europe three times since moving out here. I feel so fortunate to have done so. I love to travel anywhere, though, even Baltimore (no offense!). I did an apt swap in Paris last time I was there, and it was so nice. I took away some pointers that I use in my own rental - notes to say how to do things, where to go, what to look for, etc. I like to make my guests feel as comfortable as possible; and I like to be right at home when I travel, too. I'm convinced it's the best way to travel.
Airbnb suggests sharing one's life motto, so, okay. It's "joie de vivre." I seek the joy in life, even amidst all that life throws at us.
Hope your experience with Airbnb is as good as mine has been.
