A wonderful stay. Beautiful place. Wonderfully kept. Private, situated in a lovely quiet place but still easily accessible to the world. Would like to go back and stay again. Truly enjoyed our stay. Thank you! Two suggestion: the inability to come in and go out at will is an issue and breakfast could do with a little more variety.
Wonderful host. Florence has restored a beautiful villa with impeccable taste. Minimal where necessary, expansive where appropriate.
Wonderful staff. If you stay, you MUST have them prepare a dinner for your at least once. It's an additional charge (very reasonably priced) but it was the most delicious food we've EVER eaten. Can't recommend this highly enough.
The Villa is in a quiet neighborhood, away from the hustle. But it is India after all, so you'll hear dogs and roosters in the middle of the night. For us, it added to the charm.
There was no wifi, and even though this wasn't offered in the listing, Florence made several attempts to set us up with a USB hotspot, which was much appreciated, even though unsuccessful. Just know that if you stay, your connectivity will be limited. Use this as an opportunity to disconnect and enjoy the scenery!
Florence's villa offers classy accomodation with a cozy ambience, and homelike comfort. The place is located in a wonderful "off the beaten path" neighborhood, ideally suited to explore northern Goa.
Florence is a perfect host and likes to share her knowledge about all Goa has to offer. We had a wonderful time enjoying her hospitality, and her staff's service. The breakfast is great, and we would recommend everyone to try a lunch, or dinner there as well.
This place is for all travellers who enjoy the charms of a boutique gem.
What a lovely Villa! We were truly impressed by the place when we arrived. It's better than what the photos showed to you. The location is a bit far from the beach, but it's less touristy, and closer to how the real Goa is. Florence was very helpful, and welcoming.
Her staff was more than amazing. Awesome food in the Villa. I'd highly recommend having lunch/dinner at the place. Food is safe and delicious, and great value as well. Florence also sat down with us sharing her stories in India/Goa.
The car service was a little bit overpriced but the driver was a very good guide, and would show you around in the area if you can't driver to scooter or fear you would get lost in the amazing place without a local guide.
Overall, it's one of my best Airbnb stays. Highly recommended to couples traveling to Goa for the first time!
Had a great holiday at Goa, thanks to the great ambience and hospitality of the team led by Florence.
We had the most wonderful stay, Booked for 2 nights but stayed for 3. Absolutely beautiful home and beyond relaxing! Luxurious way to start our honeymoon in India! The guys were so friendly and the food was amazing! Thank you all. Lovely to meet Florence too, If only briefly! We slept a lot as we were recuperating after all our wedding plans and long flights! Would highly recommend your beautiful home! Thanks again Kathy & John ;)
Absolutely to recommend! This place is a true oasis of happiness! We could only stay 2 nights during our trip and we definitely want to come back. Such a great peaceful environment. Heaven on earth! - and Florence and her employees are excellent hosts! its very difficult to find such a beautiful and romantic place with such a tasteful interior design.
My family and I stayed at Florence's beautiful house in Goa this Dec 5, 2013 to Dec 9, 2013. The house looks even more magical in real life than in the pictures on airbnb, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Samuel and Samsun who serviced the house were lovely, kind and extremely helpful. They prepared breakfasts for us as we requested (they are great cooks, so definitely ask them to prepare something local if possible!) and took great care of us. We would definitely stay here again, no questions asked.
The house is not very central. To get to and from the house you need a car or some sort of transport. You could also rent a scooter or something. If you're getting a driver, it'll be an extra 2400 rupees a day, so definitely account for that.
We satyed in Frorance place the last 4 days of our vocation in Goa and fell in love with every santimeter of the place. The house is an old Portugese Villa fully restored by Florence and her family. It was completely deserted when they started 3 years ago so you can ask for the pictures NOW and THEN to see the differance and it is astonishing! Florence has the best taste in everithing. They have 3 rooms and when we were there the place was empty so we had this huge villa for ourself alone. It felt like we were wealthy Portugise colonialists. The biggest surprise and all alone unreal AIRBNB new standard is two wonderful indian boys Salim and Salomon that cared for us 24hours. Salim cooked for us wonderfully and Salomon helped with the laundry and everything else. It is such very unique feeling when you get all your piles and piles of laundry that accumulated in firs ten days fresh and ironed!!! You can go with Salim to the market and he will help you around the market and after cook anything you want. They also have fantastic place for massage and yoga right there in Villa. We had one of the best massages in our life. The place is ideal to visit all the attractions and the beach is not far at all. Just ask to arrange a bike or a taxi and you are in 5-10 minutes already there. Ask for a new bike and if the the guys that arrange bikes bring an old one just ask again and you will have it...it is India;) At last Florence and her daughter are very good and interesting people. They live near by so if you have any questions they always help you to make your stay care free!!! Thanks Florence and Melissa and definately see you in your place in France!
Fantastic place! The Portuguese house was such a breath of fresh air compared to the standard commercial hotel. The 2 caretakers and Florence were very hospitable. Loved the healthy breakfast, delicious lunches and dinners. Amazing Ayurvedic massage. The only problem was we had no Internet but we didn't really need it living in a place like this. Great people and a beautiful place. It's very close to calangute, baga and the anjuna flea market.
