On the go networking dude. Like meeting new people (so that's why we have a place for people!).
Great location; fabulous neighborhood. Eric was easy to work with and very helpful.
Eric was a good host: not crawling all over you, but still both friendly and helpful. We had a good rapport.
This is an especially good place to stay if you are a tourist; it's close to some famous/interesting parts of the city, like China Town and Fisherman's Wharf. There are also some quality restaurants and coffee shops nearby in Nob Hill. Late at night I would walk up Russian Hill and watch the city lights.
Location of Eric's house is excellent, with China Town, Italian Town, Fisherman Wharf, Financial District all in walking distance(I don't know about you, but I prefer walking). The room is spacious and clean, and I have a few superb room-mates that I had good communication with. You may like Dim Sum or lobster tail in the restaurants or you can cook in Eric's kitchen. Eric also gave me good travelling advice.
Eric was a great host. He's pretty hands off. Let's you do your own thing. Respects your privacy. The roof view and the location are amazing. Really enjoyed my stay.
Eric was a good host and it really was "a great place to stay in the city". The location was excellent, very easy to get around by foot or cable car (which stops right out the front of the building). The room was comfortable and spacious. The bed only just has enough room for two people, which was fine for us, but worth being aware of for others.
All in all great place to stay.
Eric's place is cozy. Its Nob Hill location is centrally located from downtown financial district, the Embarcadero, and all the piers. It's a great value for the location. I would love to stay there again!
Location, location, location. This place is only a 2 minute walk from Chinatown and all that it offers. It's about a 20-30 min walk from the Embarcadero BART, but you can take the Powell-Mason Cable Car from the Powell BART station up to his place, for a total walk time of probably only 5 minutes (obviously in addition to actually riding the cable car/BART).
Everything was very clean and tidy - the floors, the room, the bathroom, and the kitchen. Eric seems to take cleanliness seriously, based on what I saw in his apartment. He provided a clean towel and the bathroom was pretty clean and nice too. The size of the room was pretty big, and I probably could've fit at least 3 more grown men in the room if everyone else slept on the floor.
The bed itself was a little worn in around the hip/butt area, as in, it felt like a lot of people had slept in the bed and it wasn't rotated or anything, so it was just worn in. Because of this, I would probably only recommend one person stay here, because it could be a little uncomfortable for two people to stay in the bed, since one side is worn in, and the other side is not, which means one side is a little elevated. It was ok for me because I was by myself, but my back was a little sore from that.
Eric himself was a very kind host, didn't butt in anywhere, and really respected my privacy. I packed my days, so we unfortunately didn't have much time to interact, but as others have said, he has a lot of books in the room, some of which were just interesting based on the titles.
Main takeaway: This place is in a great location, it's a clean place to sleep and shower if you plan to explore the city, and Eric is a friendly guy.
OTTIMO POSTO IN CENTRO A SAN FRANCISCO PULITO OSPITALE
E PROPIETARIO DI CASA MOLTO DISCRETO E GENTILE, SERVITO ALLA GRANDE DALLA CABLE CAR CON FERMATA DAVANTI ALLA CASA. PIU' DI COSI' NON SI PUO' CHIEDERE
Eric got to me very quickly and within minutes we were all setup. No problems.
I had a wonderfull stay at Eric's appartment. The day of my arrival he waited till late in the evening without any complaints. I had my own room to recover after days full of new impressions. We had nice little talks whenever we met in the kitchen about San Francisco and also his time in Germany, where he studied for some time. Eric gave me nice little advices, eg. where in Chinatown to eat the best dim sum. He is the perfect host for everybody, who wants to discover San Francisco by foot or public transport, the cablecarstation is just in front of the house and Chinatown just around the corner. Thank you very much Eric!
Eric was so easy as a guest. He showed up on schedule and made himself right at home. He was quiet, pleasant and very soft spoken. He cleaned up after himself and I hardly knew he was here. When he checked out and I went to clean the room...it was as if he was never there. Everything was back the way is was before he checked in. I am honored that I was his first host. If ever I am in his neck of the woods... he will be the first person I look up!
