Loretta's place is even more charming than the photos, as is she. I rented her flat for a two day stay in St Louis which included a happy hour event for friends. Everyone was very impressed to find such a place on airbnb. The flat is clearly a dedicated rental, but is maintained more professionally than most ski condos (with professional managers). Was really pleased to find the things I worried about last minute: hair dryer, coffee, etc. Loretta has thought of everything and readily responds to questions.
Loretta and her husband couldn't have been more welcoming and charming. They made us feel immediately at home without being in the least bit intrusive.
This was a lovely home, every bit as lovely as the photos suggest. We felt completely comfortable and at home. It was a terrific home base -- charming, quiet, very safe and convenient neighborhood. Beds were comfy and rooms dark as one hopes when the lights go out for sleep! Kitchen had everything we needed, and there was plenty of room for our family of four. Close to the original Kaldi's coffee, groceries, and Forest Park including the zoo and art museum. Check in and out could not have been easier, and last but not least Loretta was kind and helpful. We hope to be back.
Couldn't be more pleased with our St. Louis stay in Loretta and Mark's apartment! The space was clean and cozy and the neighborhood is beautiful! Loved having access to a full kitchen and dining room. Very child-friendly, Loretta even set up a pack n' play for us in anticipation of a late arrival. Plenty of extra linens and towels were available, as well as info on using the TV and wi-fi. We are already planning our next visit around staying here again, loved it!
Loretta's home was one of the nicest Airbnbs we have ever stayed at! It was clean, neat, spacious and perfectly provisioned. The decorating was tasteful, yet child-friendly (we have a toddler) ... and everything was impeccably labeled so there was never a moment of question on remotes or wifi, etc. We loved the neighborhood and enjoyed walking to Kaldi for coffee and brunch, and heard great reviews of Jimmy's and the Oyster bar. Loretta was extremely responsive and really helped us out when we were in a pinch for a babysitter.
The reservation was canceled 4 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Perfect location and wonderful apartment. I would love to stay here again.
My family of 4 stayed in Historic DeMun Clayton for 5 days from 28 Jan to 2 Fen 2014 while we were in St Louis to attend our son's wedding function.
We found the apartment to be tastefully furnished, clean and heating system throughout the house was good - especially for us who come from the tropics and were not accustomed to the cold winter. We really felt at home - the kitchen was adequately equipped for our needs, the internet wifi was fast and the living room spacious.
We felt the location was safe and easy to get around. Loretta and her husband, Mark live upstairs and they were most friendly and willing to offer a helping hand when we required.
We are most grateful to Mark for coming to our rescue and sending us the the airport at 6.30am on the day of our departure when we face the ordeal of not being able to book any airport cab the night before (which we later learned was caused by city cab companys' computer system failure), We wish to put on record our gratitude and deepest appreciation to Mark.
We will definitely be staying here again if we should need accommodation in St Louis in the future.
Loretta is a delightful hostess who has created a wonderful home-away-from-home for her guests. The flat is so charming and comfortable that we really looked forward to coming home! The neighborhood is lovely and we really appreciated being able to stroll to nearby eateries and the grocery store. It is also just a short walk to Forest Park, where we enjoyed a visit to the wonderful new wing of the (free) art museum.
This was the perfect place for our visit to St. Louis. It provided a cozy home base that was just minutes from anywhere.
We have two children, and it was great to have plenty of room instead of being on top of each other in a hotel room. It was so homey that one night we even invited one of my old high school friends and his family over for dinner. We also made use of the washing machine in the basement.
The neighborhood is peaceful and everything you need -- coffee, groceries and even a movie -- are within just a few blocks.
We definitely plan on staying there when we visit again. Loretta and Mark are excellent hosts and were available to answer any questions we had.
