Julie was lovely an really helpful and accommodating. She picked us up from the station and made us feel welcome. Her house is beautiful and the space was perfect for us, with a baby. It's lovely to be in the garden when it's sunny. And it's not too far from Paris, only 40 mins and good to get out of the city for a bit of fresh air. Thanks Julie
Though a little rough around the edges, Julie's cottage is quite cozy and has plenty of amenities. It was great for our dog as it is out in the country and right next to a lovely forest park. Paris is an hour away and easily accessible by car or train during rush hour. Fontainebleu is also less than an hour away.
Julie herself is very kind and helpful. She was a great hostess!
Julie has a charming house just next to the forest, and it was convenient since I'm travelling with my dog. She also has a very charming playful dog. The upper floor which she's renting is cute and has everything you need. It's not very close to Paris if that's what you want to experience in France, but if you're okay with travelling a bit to get into Paris and/or really love living in the french countryside this is a good opportunity and Julie is very friendly.
We had a great stay at Julie and Cyril's! The floor we were on was well equipped. The highlight has to be the the cute little pony in Julie's garden which she kindly allowed us to feed. My children loved it!
We are a family with two boys aged 5 and 6 years old. We opted to stay with Julie instead of going camping as we figured it would be a lot less hassle, it was cheaper and we hoped it would be more comfortable then camping. We are very happy that we made the decision to stay with Julie and her assortment of animals as we had a wonderful 5 days.
The flat is small but had everything we needed (and far better then a tent in my opinion). My partner is taller then me so he did have to be more aware whilst walking around the loft space and sloped ceilings! A bonus was we were allowed to use the washing machine which made it a lot easier for the second leg of our journey. The beds were very comfortable and having access to wifi was invaluable. The road leading up to the house was not a problem for us - on the contrary, the children thought it was fun!!
We are a noisy family so I was very conscious of the boys stamping around the floors early in the morning. However Julie was reassuring and nice about this, stating it was no problem for her.
We brought our own kids bikes and were allowed to use two adult bikes so could explore the wood next door which was fun and very beautiful. Disneyland is just over an hours drive away, as is Paris. The beautiful area of Fontainebleau which offers some of the best bouldering (climbing) in the world is just a 45 minute drive away. We found a family walk and climbing area on the road 409/837 between Milly and Arbonne, (parking on right hand side) which is well worth a visit.
We found a wonderful restaurant which is well worth a visit - Le Safari - pizzeria and grill themed restaurant in Etrechy (even serves up lama if your so inclined!!) The outdoor pool (with wave machine & slide) and large park called Base De Loisins is fantastic for families. Other activities in the park include mini-golf, inflatables, riding, archery, climbing (book on-line), pedalos, bike trail, skate park etc Nearby in Etampes is the best and biggest patisserie I have seen with an amazing selection of cakes and goodies on offer! Also an hours drive away in Villiers en Bierre is one of Frances largest hypermarkets and shopping centres.
Julie was a wonderful host and very welcoming - she genuinely did not seem to mind our noisy children which was a bonus! The flat whilst small, was comfortable and a great base to explore this beautiful area from. It was close to activities and areas we love. We hope to come again and would even consider bringing our own hound! Perfect!
Hote sympathique, communication facile.
