I loved the apartment and the location. Raphaela is a great host, would highly recommend it. The apartment was very clean and lovely. Everything went smoothly. She is a trustworthy and realiable host. It was great meeting her.
Nice place to stay with a pleasant rooftop. Very good location near to central station.
The 2 girls host were very cool !
I was disappointed. The room & apartment are tiny (even by HK standards) and the wide angle AirBnB shots are deceptive. Be ready to walk stairs to 6th floor and wear earplugs because you hear everything from the busy Queens Road below you. I didn't meet the host because (thankfully!!) I ended up alone in the apartment but she is nice enough on the email. I can't recommend this, pay 20% more and get a nicer place in same hood.
Raphaela was an amazing host. Communication with her was easy and flexible. I would highly recommend this apartment for anyone who wants a hassle free stay that is clean and tidy in a very convenient location. Don't forget to check out the rooftop terrace!
Positive things first, Raphaela responded very quick to my inquiries before I booked the room. Moreover, the location is amazing and was convenient for me. Finding the key was also very easy. However, I would have expected the apartment to be much cleaner, the bed and sheets were okay but overall I only spend the minimum time needed in the apartment. The shower and bathroom is very very tiny. Overall, definitely NOT WORTH THE PRICE! 123 EUR (incl. Airbnb fees) for 2 nights is too much for what you get.
I stayed there for a month and found the apartment nice and convenient, great location, and communicating with Raphaela was easy. It was nice to spend some time with her on the beuatiful rooftop, though I was moslty sharing the apt with a (very nice) friend of hers as R. was travelling. The apartment is indeed in the lower range of size and of price for the location - the pics taken by the Airbnb guys make it look bigger which is something Raphaela herself was unhappy about! For those who don't mind small spaces / limited cooking possibilities, I would definitely recommend it.
We spend 2 days in Raphaela's apartment in Hong Kong.
The apartment is very well located, closed to Central Station.
It is quite small but very warming, the price is very interesting compared to the other places in Hong Kong.
I highly recommand it !
Having stayed in some amazing AIRBNB apartments around the world we was looking forward to our stay in Raphaela's apartment in Hong Kong. We arrived on Christmas Day to find paint flaking from the ceilings, the beds are matresses on wooden pallets, the plastic folding bathroom door does not shut properly and is attached to the minute kitchen, the shower curtain is mouldy as is all the surround of the kitchen sink, there are dirty marks on most of the walls, the curtains are pieces of unhemmed fraying material. The whole place is in very poor decorative order. It looks much better in the photo's that are shown than it is in reality. There was one highlight, the wifi worked well and the 2 hours we stayed in the apartment was spent on the internet finding hotel rooms! The only other good experience was meeting Nancy who gave us the key, she was very nice and sorry when we told her we was leaving. The building is very shabby on the outside, the stairs are chipped away in places, dogs live in the builidng, they left a present on the stairs, and the roof terrace, that is for everyone in the building to share, not exclusive to this apartment.
Apartment was in great location, a short walk to central and the ferry terminals. Bathroom is small and there is no elevator, but overall the apartment was clean and pleasant. I was met at the train station which made getting the keys and finding the apartment easy. Thanks!
Great little place. All you need for the price. Be prepared for lots of steps but after walking around HK you should be used to some vertical workouts. The door is not very well labeled as we had a difficult time at first finding the unit. The address implies its on 5th floor but in reality it's the sixth since the first floor doesn't count. All in all a good spot for the price.
Raphaela is a great friend and always fun to hang out with. Her apt is unique and the cosy rooftoop terrace is the place to be in Sheung Wan...
Raphaela is a very swiss girl :) Decent, sweet & responsible. Always good fun to have her around.
Knowing Raphaela and Lara from way back when we went to school together, I am sure that they would make outstanding airbnb hosts. I've always appreciated their hospitality, kindness and openness, so I am sure that they would provide a welcoming place and atmosphere for thier guests, and do anything they can to make a stay at their place in Hongkong memorable.
Raphaela and Lara are very responsible, fun, easy-going, and would make excellent roommates/hosts/whatevers.
