I'm a thirty-something living in Cork, Ireland in a lovely house overlooking the harbour. Am unsure but think my job is called "graphic design consultant" but that's just some concept I reckon.
I like to paint bright splashy squelchy stuff and am one of those Canon EOS 550 people ("Rebel" in the US apparently) but I find the iPhone is great craic pulled out of the pocket in a flash. I watch TED talks, documentaries and mainstream movies, read mostly non-fiction, like chatting in the local with a 'lady-glass' of stout, aspire to buddhist philosophy and head to retreats in Dzogchen Beara (stunning location: check it out!).
I'm excited about city breaks to visit friends. However, the ultimate holidays are mountains and lake places for some reason.... trekking or camping is such fun, but I admit, I'm not an adventure queen or anything, as am allergic to mosquito bites since a fateful attack in Egypt. Renting scooters is a guilty pleasure, even if they're like hairdryers. Don't risk me on a jet-ski. Will stop for a little snack after an hour of river kayaking, to enjoy the view...
If really forced to reference music at dinner parties I just say "fun stuff for arty dancing!". I support the girly-guitar genre (ahem) but also strictly minimal electronic, unabashed folk, BBC-radio-talking stuff, scatty dooby jazz and in reality anything live to be honest. Comfortable silences... Sometimes I forget music exists and then get over excited about a busker.
