My boyfriend and I stayed in Sunnyside for our trip to New York last week and it was just the perfect location. Literally 2 min away from the train station and 15 minutes ride to Time Square.
The apartment was really nice and clean. Perfect size for two and a nice kitchen to use when you don't want to eat out. There is plenty of good restaurants in the neighborhood. You can walk everywhere!
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!!
Great! Can't add much to prior comments.
Really nice location. Although weather was not perfect, we were able to move from Queen to Times Square quite easily. And when we have questions, we are always able to get quick response from the host. If I will visit NYC again, definitely I will check availability of this venue.
Great place to stay! Comfortable bed ! Easy to get around! Only downfall was the water, the showers were luke warm :( Overall though 9/10
If you are reading the comments to figure out whether you should book this place, stop right there and go and book your time in Sunnyside and then come back to finish reading, you won't regret it.
The apartment is everything you need and more to be comfortable. The view and sunset is breathtaking. Super quick to get into the city. It really is as nice as all the photos make out.
Sunnyside is an amazing neighborhood, get a realistic experience of what life as a New Yorker is like and stay here. I am so glad we stayed here as we were able to discover the well kept secret or Sunnyside.
The neighborhood harbors no pretenses, only AMAZING restaurants everywhere. I ate at Yum Yum Thai every day - best Thai in the city. The Turkish restaurant next door is also AMAZING and I'm not even sure if I love Turkish food. If you need to be seen, then Salt and Fat was packed out every night with people coming from far and wide to eat there. The apartment is so close to the train [1-2 minute walk under this cool echoey bridge]. You barely hear the train, you can only really hear it if its an occaisonal express train and it speeds through the station, but it's a gentle hum and not intrusive at all.
Seriously, the location cannot be beaten, close to every kind of shop selling every kind of random convenience you can think of.
The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on, I didn't want to leave! The cutlery was so chic, little details like this made us feel like we were really staying somewhere upmarket.
The apartment is beautiful, just the right size, compact but not too small and very well planned out. You get the feeling that someone very well to do used to live there and had it all kitted out with the finest things, all of which still remain; unlike most Airbnb budget ny places which can make you wonder whether they've been furnished by freegans…
The central heating works so well and so silently and isn't one of those loud noisy A/C things. The bathroom included shampoos, towels, there was even nail varnish remover. The laundry facilities were a godsend, really easy to use and very handy.
We spent almost two weeks here and had a very inspirational stay, we had just moved from Dubai and were looking for a permanent place to rent, and this made us seriously consider Sunnyside; if we could find something with equally great proximity to the train, and a comparable view of the city…
Don't miss out! We cannot recommend Sunnyside enough! So lucky to have discovered this neighborhood, we have moved elsewhere on the 7 train route and will be coming all the way back to 42nd st for Thai food and supermarket conveniences…
Thanks Brian and Krippa for hosting such a wonderful apartment. All the best.
To cut the long story short - it was SO great!!! The appartment is perfect! It's ideal for the stay if you are looking for comfort and convenience!
You'll find the whole place amazing and well equiped, the district is great - lots of grocery stores, cvs, markets and restaraunts of all the possible cuisines)
The hosts are great - they are so responsible and responsive! Please, don't hesitate to book it!
And thanks again for out stay guys!!!
Все было круто - отличная квартира и хозяева! Все очень удобно и в точности, как на фото) Не сомневайтесь - бронируйте)
The apartment was really nice and in a very good location. The subway station is literally across the street and you can get a direct train in to Times Square within 15 minutes. The space was perfect for the time we were there. The only issue we had was the elevators were not working the whole time we were there (5 nights) and we were on the 6th floor. We understand this is not Brian and Kripa's fault, however it was a bit of a killer especially after a long day in NYC. Many thanks Brian & Kripa for the use of your lovely apartment.
Had an amazing stay in this apartment. Subway is literally a 3 min walk from the front door and you can get 7 days unlimited travel for $30 pp. some great restaurants around the area too and nice bars.
Thank You Brian and Kripa for letting my girlfriend and I to stay in your amazing place.
A really nice apartment for my stay in New York. The 7 train is just a short 3-4 minute / two block walk away and then it's about 15 minutes into Times Square. The apartment was exactly as shown in the pictures. Good strong hot shower and a great full kitchen too. The area (42nd St/Queens Blvd) is a normal residential area and I felt safe at all times (even very late at night).
Highly recommend, they were clean, courteous, and very personable.. They would be more than welcome to stay again!
They were a lovely couple. Slept all afternoon and then went out to dinner, so I barely saw them. But they were quiet and friendly, couldn't have wished for nicer people! I'll welcome them any time.
This place is "the" most wonderful place I have ever stayed! It is such a beauty! I stayed there only for a few days and would recommend this to anyone with out a shade of doubt. It has everything one may ask for.
Kripa is a friend of mine whom I know well through our professional work environment. She has the most welcoming of personalities, and is honestly one of the nicest and kindest people I know. She is a reliable, sincere, and generous person, and maintains a clean and well organized work space.
I recently rented this apartment for a week. This is a lovely cozy apartment. The view is awesome and the neighborhood is lively. I would definitely come back.
This is a quaint condo in Sunnyside, New York. I work with the owner and travel a lot. I needed a place to stay between assignments. The transportation possibilities are endless. The bus and train to mid-town NYC are literally 2mins away. I suggest taking the bus for a scenic ride over the 59th street Bridge (but don’t do it during rush hours).
The unit was very clean and I was greeted with a bottle of wine and flowers since my stay was for more than three days as they stated on the site. I got the sense that being comfortable during my stay was the primary concern. I stayed for a weekend and two days and found the rate to be most economical given similar options in the area. The sunset views are better than the photos provided on the website. The patio faces the west which points to Manhattan and the colors are wonderful in the late evening with the City as a back drop.
Payment arrangements easily met my level of flexibility as the owner was willing to make this part of the process as seamless and convenient as possible for me.
