We are in couple and like pure design in a minimalist and authentic style.
Nicolas maison is a really wonderful place with an amazing view. An absolute lovely place to enjoy your time!.
If you want to get away from it all, slow down and like an adventure - this is the place for you. We loved the gentle pace of life, friendly people and really french feel.
Ile de Levant is a wonderful secluded Island about an hour off the South Coast of France. The water is crystal clear and snorkeling is amazing. Most of the swimming is from rocky outcrops and there is one beach. The island is quite hilly so be ready for steps.
There are about 8 restaurants (some of which have wifi you can use),a couple of shops and no bank or ATM machine - so take all the money you need with you (we had a problem early on because one restaurant couldn't get any of our cards to work - fortunately it was fine after that). Take food and provisions because food and supplies are relatively limited and expensive on the island.
Audrey's little house is perfect - a main bedroom, living room, second bedroom and kitchen (furnished and decorated simply with modern taste - and comfy beds!)- with a wonderful large west facing patio with stunning sea views. Of course, we ate most meals on the patio .
Eating out is easy - our favourite was La Palmeraie - wondeerful cuisine!
You can also take a day trip on the boat to Le Lavandou or to Port Cros (the closest island which has some bigger sandy beaches).
Ferry services to Le Lavandou are more frequent than to Hyeres (and a shorter journey)... but of course you have an airport closer to Hyeres and can catch the train.
Only about 10% of the island is inhabited (is was privately purchased in 1931) so it feels like a close community. It's also a naturist resort - this is optional in most areas, not allowed in the port and the 'main' square area but is obligatory on the one sandy beach (though there's no pressure from anyone). We were nervous at first but it's amazing how quickly you get used to it (and of course children choose).
Thank you Audrey for a memorable stay!
We had a great time on le Levant. The house is perfect for a couple or small family, well equipped, and has an incredible view over the whole bay.
We liked the visit of nicola and the family very much: nice, inteligent, interesting people with lovely children. It doesnt fell like foreign people in the apartment. We can realy recommend them and would like to have them as guest in the future.
