Leslie and Joe are wonderful hosts and we enjoyed staying in their beautiful and cosy (website hidden) Pleasant has some interesting history - walk around the neighbourhood and read the boards of information to learn about the place. Be sure to ask Joe and Leslie about the history of the house too!
We had to delay our check-in time by a couple of hours as we arrived off an international flight and immigration in Washington DC Dulles airport took a while, so we were grateful that Leslie and Joe were OK with us arriving late.
If you’re trying to save money on taxi fare, there is a shuttle bus you can take from the airport to a train station (silver line), then connect to the Yellow line that goes to their house. There’s a bit of a walk to the house from the station but the roads are fairly flat and smooth so we had no problem pushing our trolley bags along. Of course without bags, it’s a lovely walk morning or evening.
My husband and I love food and the highlight of our stay was having bagels and cream cheese at the breakfast table every morning - just like we've seen on heaps of American TV shows!
