Hello everyone and thank you for checking out my listing! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. I live in San Jose
Really enjoyed staying at Mark's place. Clean, quiet, easy to find and in a nice neighborhood on a quiet street.
Although Mark was traveling, he reached out to me several times to be sure that I had what I needed. He had appointed an onsite representative -- Lyn -- who helped me get settled and answered all my questions. She even streamed some of my favorite TV programs for me! There is no cable, so streaming TV shows is the practice there.
The other people staying at Mark's were very nice and I enjoyed talking with all of them. And Kenji, Mark's dog, was a delight!
I had never been in an Eichler home so it was an interesting experience with the Atrium just inside the entrance and the rest of the house configured around it. It's very open and airy and therefore very cool in the house. The room I stayed in was nice with a very comfortable queen-size bed.
I would recommend Mark's house for an economical retreat!
We spent quite a long time in Mark's house with my husband. I should say that this is the best experience I had on airbnb - Mark is an amazing host, his house is really unique - atmosphere, all the little decoration details and everything you can need! You can spend the fist day just observing all the details here. And then you meet Kenjii! The cutest and funniest dog ever!! He would definitely insist on you playing with him!
As for the facilities - Mark is very kind to help you in case of any need. I became a lazy wife here - the house is cleaned, you have only to wash your clothes - press one button and to dry it - press one more button :)
House is big, I definitely liked the yard and the atrium inside - there are a lot of flowers and greenery.
Mark also allowed us to invite our friends and colleagues to have a barbecue. We were a bit loud, so I should say sorry for that.
So, how I can give more then 5 starts? 6, even 10!! Do not hesitate choosing this place!!
Marc is awesome - he's not only a great host he's a good friend and will go the extra mile for your stay to be enjoyable. He literally drove me an hour away from the city on a weekend to go buy a car. The house is awesome and the dog is adorable.
Awesome place to have landed. Mark was a gracious host. I was able to take over his kitchen to cook which made it feel like .. Fresh juice from his trees was another great treat. Kenji the dog of the house was sweet and a great buddy since we had to leave our pup at home. Mark is now part of our family. We loved our experience.
I stayed here for a month while relocating from Miami to San Francisco when I landed a job at eBay. This place was a perfect relocation spot! Mark is a very kind and loving person, he completely went out of his way to help me out, he even came to pick me up at the airport which was very kind of him and showed me around San José and San Francisco. I come from Barcelona and I really appreciated having a local show me around. The place is conveniently located only 2 miles away from the eBay headquarters. The place is also very nice with all the amenities and the room was comfortable and cozy. I completely fell for Kenji, Mark's dog, who is very sweet and loves going to the park near the house to fetch some ball. My overall experience was better than I ever imagined, specially because I didn't feel like being in a lonely hotel and Mark is a great host. I highly recommend booking this place and meeting Mark and Kenji. This place felt the closest to home for a relocation landing spot.
I stayed here for a month while moving back to the Bay Area. Mark is a great host and a lot of work has been put into the home for making the bedrooms comfortable for guests. The bedrooms have unique touches with wall art and set up with a desk with pens, paper, even a water bottle upon arrival.
The shared spaces are very roomy and clean. There's a huge kitchen with a little extra of everything. Overall very positive airbnb experience.
Stayed here for 2 weeks and had a great time, Mark is an excellent host and was very responsive and helpful much before my move-in date. Both the other guests and Mark are very open and laid back, makes it very easy to make yourself at home.
I stayed for two months in Mark's home. So let me break it down for you.
Mark: Great host. Very friendly and genuinely concerned that you're comfortable and situated. He's still new to hosting, but super receptive to any feedback you may have for him. As a single female traveling solo, I felt very comfortable staying at Mark's and was touched that he truly cared for my safety and wellbeing. (First day there he gave me the phone numbers of his family and neighbors in case I need anything when he wasn't around.) We still get together to hang out.
The Neighborhood/House/Room: Terrific neighborhood! Centrally located to the south bay, safe, pretty, nice neighbors, well established, close to lots of restaurants/stores/etc. It's definitely a community vibe - these people even have a thing called eichlernet to talk about their houses and they have block parties (how cute and quaint is that?!). The house and room are comfortable, adequately furnished. You have plenty of room to keep to yourself or to be sociable. The atrium and bcd deck/hot tub are great! Mark mentioned that he's hired a cleaning service, so things should be sparkling and tidy. Your car/motorcycle will be safe, parked on the street.
The Dogs: I adore these two guys! But, DO NOT stay here if you do not care for dogs. The dogs are super sweet, though definitely excitable and exuberant when new folks come not the scene. Having dogs means there's sometimes dog hair around, and toys to watch out for, and barking, and poop in the backyard. That said, they are loving and cute and definitely, for me, helped lend a homey feel to the place. Plus, on nights when I was home alone, I felt very secure having the dogs there.
If you choose to stay chez Mark, enjoy! :-)
Mark is just a cool and laid-back guy and a great guest. He was here very briefly and on a mission and we were actually kinda sad to see him go. We'd host him again in a heartbeat and would love a tour of his beautiful hose one of these days!
I have known Mark for over a decade and have been to his wonderful home many times. His home is tidy and clean with a yard to die for with a wonderful vibe. He is a great host for all occasions and one of the most helpful friends you could ask for plus he knows the area if you are not familiar with the area.
I hope that you will give Mark's home a stay because I know you will enjoy it.
I have known Mark for over 30 years. He is one of the kindest, decent, honest, personable and genuine people I know. He loves animals and is a great cyclist also.
Mark is a great guy! We've been friends for over 10 years, and he's always been super helpful and considerate. I'm hoping to do the AIDS ride with him next year. I've visited his home many times and it's tidy and well maintained.
