Native New Mexican who landed back in ABQ after 17 years away on the east and west coasts of the U.S.A. Traveler and artist, I love New Mexico and the southwestern states. I also often travel to San Francisco for work - lucky me!

We had a delightful stay at Kristine and Charles' casita. Every detail has been cared for- beautiful outdoor spaces, fresh coffee beans provided, full TV options, well-stocked and beautifully designed kitchen, heavenly beds, clean environment, ... It is a beautifully designed and very comfortable mid-century home. We stayed for a week and wanted to put down roots. We had breakfast every morning outside on the shaded, lovely patio. Our two kids loved the place. Nice neighbors, one block from the co-op grocery store, very near the independent bookstore and delicious Flying Star… It was a perfect location for us. Thank you for your hospitality, Kristine, and we look forward to staying again next summer.
I had a wonderful stay and experience in Kristine's casita. Kristine left us lots of goodies and frequently checked in. Communicating with her was easy, she responded very fast to my emails. On my next trip I will definitely stay in her lovely home again. And it was perfect for my 4 year old as well!
Thanks so much for staying with us Gabrielle. We look forward to seeing you (and your son) during your next ABQ visit. Kristine
Good stay, no complaints at all. Kristine and her husband were very helpful, very nice and the property was the perfect size for my wife and I. Spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and all the comforts of home - loved the little courtyard and the hummingbirds that hung out there.
Cool, eclectic neighborhood that was convenient to everything. We wanted the experience of "living" in ABQ rather than another week in a hotel "visiting" where we had chosen to vacation. I'd gladly stay here again. Thanks Kristine and Charles!
Thanks for staying with us Martin, and thank you for your review - we enjoyed sharing ABQ and NM with you and your wife plus hearing how much you appreciated the casita! Visit us again soon!
We spent a week here in late March. The house was very well equipped. We loved the neighborhood. There was a toy store, food coop grocery, book store and Flying Star restaurant within walking distance. Despite the convenient location the home was quiet. We already miss the home and want to return soon.
Thank you for staying with us - we truly enjoyed having you visit.
Kristine was a great host. She responded quickly to our last minute request and was gracious and incredibly helpful. She responded within an hour (usually less) to any questions we had. There were 3 adults and 1 toddler in our group. When we arrived (late!) Kristine furnished us with outlet protectors and safety locks for the cabinets as well as a recommendation for good take-out nearby. We loved cooking together in the kitchen and relaxing by the fire pit out back. We could walk to the food coop and the river, a great neighborhood. The house is compact and very clean. The king mattress one of the most comfortable I have ever slept on. Sharing a bathroom between 2 bedrooms worked fine for us, but could be difficult for a group that is not super close.
Kristine's house and hospitality were both fabulous and we loved our stay.
With 17 month old twins I was a bit worried about potential dangers in the house, but Kristine was great about describing the place in detail before we arrived (to assuage my concerns) and flexible about letting us move anything we were worried about - like small items and breakables.
The house was stocked with soap, both in the bathroom and kitchen, as well as some condiments, trash bags, tin foil and the like...often not the case when you stay at a short term rental. It made life so much easier to not have to buy basics like salt and dish soap!
The location in the North Valley was lovely and although it is only 2 doors down from a fire station and 3 doors off of Rio Grande, it was surprisingly quiet.
The back porch was a wonderful place to hang after the kids were asleep and enjoy the evening and a glass of wine and the backyard, while a work in progress, looks like it's going to be just wonderful. Also, the pictures don't do the front yard justice, the plants have grown in and it's a little oasis of its own.
We didn't need to talk to Kristine during our visit, but I knew that she and her husband were only a few blocks away if we needed anything. The convenience to the Grocery Co-op, Flying Star restaurant and the freeways made it an ideal location for us.
We'd stay again in a heartbeat!
Kristine and the casita were both amazing. We booked with Kristine at the last moment and after our original booking cancelled on us. Kristine took on our booking very quickly. When we arrived, she was there to great us, show us the lay of the land, and give suggestions. We really loved staying at her casita. Our friends booked a large home in a more modern suburban area, and we are certainly glad that we landed at Kristine's instead. It was comfy, clean, well appropriated, and placed us in an authentic and hip ABQ area. This is where I will be staying again and again!
Cute house. Nice convenient neighborhood close to the river park and to old town . Loved the friendly cats.
Kristine is a graceful host.
Kristine was one of my lovelier guests. Super pleasant and friendly. She communicated her plans well. I has great pleasure hosting here and would welcome her back with open arms. Thank you for being a 5-star house guest, Kristine!
We truly enjoyed hosting Kristine and Charles. Great guests; quiet, kind, fun, good conversations with breakfast. We would love to see them again. We wish them nothing but success in their endeavors and their marriage.
